Abstract

The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices and cartridges for aerosol delivery devices. The cartridge comprises a mouthpiece having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the mouthpiece having an exit portal defined therethrough, a tank defining a proximal end and a closed distal end, the tank being configured to contain a liquid composition that includes a distinctive characteristic, and a heater configured to heat the liquid composition. The distal end of the mouthpiece is configured to engage the proximal end of the tank, and when the cartridge is coupled with the aerosol delivery device at least one feature of the cartridge, or at least one feature of the control device, or at least one feature of both the cartridge and the control device, provides a visual indication of a color associated with the distinctive characteristic.

Claims (18)

1. An aerosol delivery device comprising:

a cartridge that comprises a mouthpiece and that includes an aerosol precursor composition, the aerosol precursor composition including a distinctive characteristic; and

an outer body having an end configured to couple with the cartridge so that a portion of the cartridge including the aerosol precursor composition is arranged inside the outer body and the mouthpiece extends out from the outer body,

wherein when the cartridge is coupled with the outer body, at least one feature of the aerosol delivery device provides a visual indication associated with the distinctive characteristic.

2. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the distinctive characteristic comprises a flavorant included in the aerosol precursor composition.

3. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the visual indication comprises a color associated with the distinctive characteristic.

4. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the outer body includes at least one light source therein, and wherein the light source at least partially provides the visual indication associated with the distinctive characteristic.

5. The aerosol delivery device of claim 3 , wherein the cartridge has an exit portal defined through a portion thereof, and wherein the exit portal provides the visual indication of the color associated with the distinctive characteristic.

6. The aerosol delivery device of claim 5 , wherein the exit portal has an oblong shape.

7. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the aerosol precursor composition comprises a liquid composition.

8. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the cartridge is transparent.

9. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the mouthpiece is integrated with the cartridge.

10. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the outer body includes an external connection element configured for charging the aerosol delivery device.

11. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 further comprising a control mechanism configured to control an amount of electrical power delivered to the aerosol delivery device.

12. The aerosol delivery of claim 1 further comprising an end cap configured to engage at least a portion of a distal end of the outer body.

13. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the outer body includes a power source.

14. The aerosol delivery device of claim 13 , wherein the power source comprises a battery configured to be removable from the outer body.

15. The aerosol delivery device of claim 1 , wherein the cartridge comprises a reservoir that holds the aerosol precursor composition.
