Abstract

A base station receives from a wireless device one or more first radio resource control messages indicating assistance information and in response transmits to the wireless device one or more second RRC messages indicating one or more configured grant configurations. The assistance information includes an identifier indicating a logical channel and one or more periodicities associated with the logical channel.

Claims (49)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving one or more first radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating assistance information, wherein the assistance information indicates:

an identifier indicating a logical channel; and

one or more periodicities associated with the logical channel; and

transmitting in response to the assistance information, one or more second RRC messages indicating one or more configured grant configurations.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising configuring one or more configured grant configurations in response to the assistance information.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising one or more of:

activating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel; and

deactivating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein a buffer status report from a wireless device is triggered in response to data of the logical channel becoming available.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the buffer status report is canceled based on one or more of:

one or more activation commands indicating activation of the one or more configured grant configurations,

a priority associated with the logical channel being greater than or equal to a threshold, and

a scheduling request (SR) configuration associated with the logical channel being configured to skip a buffer status reporting.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the assistance information further comprises a buffer size level of the logical channel.

The method of claim 6 , wherein the buffer size level indicates a nominal buffer status level associated with the logical channel and canceling the buffer status report is in response to a buffer status level with data being equal or smaller than the buffer size level indicated by the assistance information.

8. A base station, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a memory coupled to the one or more processors and storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to:

receive, from a wireless device, one or more first radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating assistance information, wherein the assistance information indicates:

an identifier indicating a logical channel; and

one or more periodicities associated with the logical channel; and

transmit, to the wireless device, in response to the assistance information, one or more second RRC messages indicating one or more configured grant configurations.

9. The base station of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to configure one or more configured grant configurations in response to the assistance information.

10. The base station of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to perform one or more of:

activating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel; and

deactivating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel.

11. The base station of claim 8 , wherein a buffer status report from the wireless device is triggered in response to data of the logical channel becoming available.

12. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the buffer status report is canceled based on one or more of:

one or more activation commands indicating activation of the one or more configured grant configurations,

a priority associated with the logical channel being greater than or equal to a threshold, and

a scheduling request (SR) configuration associated with the logical channel being configured to skip a buffer status reporting.

13. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the assistance information further comprises a buffer size level of the logical channel.

The base station of claim 13 , wherein the buffer size level indicates a nominal buffer status level associated with the logical channel and canceling the buffer status report is in response to a buffer status level with data being equal or smaller than the buffer size level indicated by the assistance information.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a base station, cause the base station to:

receive, from a wireless device, one or more first radio resource control (RRC) messages indicating assistance information, wherein the assistance information indicates:

an identifier indicating a logical channel; and

one or more periodicities associated with the logical channel; and

transmit, to the wireless device, in response to the assistance information, one or more second RRC messages indicating one or more configured grant configurations.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to configure one or more configured grant configurations in response to the assistance information.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to perform one or more of:

activating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel; and

deactivating one or more grant configurations associated with the logical channel.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein a buffer status report from the wireless device is triggered in response to data of the logical channel becoming available.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the buffer status report is canceled based on one or more of:

one or more activation commands indicating activation of the one or more configured grant configurations,

a priority associated with the logical channel being greater than or equal to a threshold, and

a scheduling request (SR) configuration associated with the logical channel being configured to skip a buffer status reporting.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the assistance information further comprises a buffer size level of the logical channel and canceling the buffer status report is in response to a buffer status level with data being equal or smaller than the buffer size level indicated by the assistance information.
