Abstract

Device localization (e.g., ultra-wideband device localization) may be used to provide coordinated outputs and/or receive coordinated inputs using multiple devices. Providing coordinated outputs may include providing partial outputs using multiple devices, modifying an output of a device based on its position and/or orientation relative to another device, and the like. In some cases, each device of a set of multiple devices may provide a partial output, which combines with partial outputs of the remaining devices to produce a coordinated output.

Claims (62)

1. An electronic device comprising:

an enclosure;

a display positioned at least partially within the enclosure;

an antenna configured to detect a wireless signal pulse transmitted between the electronic device and an additional electronic device; and

a processing unit configured to:

analyze the detected wireless signal pulse to determine a set of spatial parameters of the electronic device relative to the additional electronic device;

receive a signal from an input device indicating a change in spatial parameters of the input device, the change in spatial parameters causing a corresponding transition of a graphical object displayed on the display of the electronic device to an additional display of the additional electronic device; and

cause display of a transformed graphical object corresponding to the graphical object on the additional display of the additional electronic device, the transformed graphical object generated using the set of spatial parameters of the electronic device relative to the additional electronic device.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein causing the display of the transformed graphical object comprises causing the transformed graphical object to stop being displayed on the electronic device in response to the signal from the input device.

3. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein:

the set of spatial parameters comprises an orientation of the display of the electronic device relative to the additional display of the additional electronic device; and

the processing unit is further configured to:

determine a change in position of the graphical object at least in part based on the orientation of the display relative to the additional display; and

display the transformed graphical object in the additional display in accordance with the determined change in the position of the graphical object.

4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein:

the antenna is an ultra-wideband antenna; and

the wireless signal pulse is an ultrawideband signal pulse.

5. The electronic device of claim 4 , wherein the processing unit is configured to analyze the detected wireless signal pulse to determine a distance between the electronic device and the additional electronic device.

6. The electronic device of claim 4 , wherein:

the set of spatial parameters comprises an orientation of the display of the electronic device relative to the additional display of the additional electronic device; and

the signal comprises a change in spatial parameters of the input device relative to the electronic device.

7. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein:

the additional electronic device comprises a second processing unit;

the signal indicates a change in spatial parameters of the input device relative to the additional electronic device; and

the second processing unit is configured to determine the transformed graphical object at least partially based on the change in the spatial parameters of the input device relative to the additional electronic device.

8. The electronic device of claim 7 , wherein the second processing unit is configured to cause the transformed graphical object to be displayed on the additional display as part of a coordinated graphical output presented using the electronic device and the additional electronic device.

9. An electronic device comprising:

an enclosure;

a display positioned at least partially within the enclosure;

an antenna configured to detect a wireless signal pulse transmitted between the electronic device and an additional electronic device; and

a processing unit configured to:

analyze the detected wireless signal pulse to determine a set of spatial parameters of the electronic device relative to the additional electronic device;

receive a signal from an input device associated with a movement operation, the movement operation comprising movement of a graphical object displayed on the electronic device to an additional display of the additional electronic device; and

in response to the movement operation, cause the graphical object to move from the display of the electronic device and to the additional display of the additional electronic device, the movement causing display of a transformed graphical object on the additional display.

10. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein:

the set of spatial parameters comprises an orientation of the display of the electronic device relative to the additional display of the additional electronic device; and

causing the graphical object to move from the display to the additional display is based on the orientation of the display to the additional display.

11. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein:

the set of spatial parameters comprises an orientation of the display of the electronic device relative to the additional display of the additional electronic device; and

the processing unit is configured to determine a movement path of the graphical object from the display to the additional display at least in part based on the orientation of the display relative to the additional display.

12. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein the movement operation comprises a file associated with the graphical object to the transferred from the electronic device and to the additional electronic device.

13. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein:

the wireless signal pulse is an ultrawideband signal pulse; and

the processing unit is configured to analyze the detected wireless signal pulse to determine a distance between the electronic device and the additional electronic device.

14. The electronic device of claim 13 , wherein the signal comprises a change in spatial parameters of the input device relative to at least one of the electronic device and the additional electronic device.

15. The electronic device of claim 9 , wherein:

the set of spatial parameters comprises an orientation of the display of the electronic device relative to the additional display of the additional electronic device; and

the additional electronic device is configured to transform the graphical object at least partially based on the orientation of the input device relative to the additional electronic device.

16. An electronic device comprising:

a display;

an antenna configured to detect an ultra-wideband signal pulse transmitted between the electronic device and an additional electronic device; and
