Abstract

A footwear having a sole customized to a wearer's anatomy by receiving a foot model; generating an elevated foot model with a heel at a predetermined heel height from a ground and determining a structure to support a foot arch and a ball area of the foot model; and fabricating a high heel sole with the optimized structure to support the foot.

Claims (30)

1. A method for forming a customized footwear, comprising:

receiving a foot model into memory of a processor;

coupling the foot model to a shoe model;

modifying the foot model to support a heel, a foot arch and a ball area of the foot; and

fabricating a sole or insole in a reformable structure, wherein the reformable structure is reusable.

2. The method of claim 1 , comprising fabricating the sole or insole by:

forming a reformable master shape from the foot model;

holding a volume of particles inside a container;

infusing the volume with a liquid to mobilize the volume of particles;

pressing the reformable master shape into the membrane with atmospheric pressure to form a mold of the sole; and

depositing a sole material into the mold.

3. The method of claim 1 , comprising providing a bed of computer controlled bed of pins to form the reformable master shape.

4. The method of claim 1 , comprising fabricating the sole or insole using additive manufacturing.

5. The method of claim 1 , comprising providing forming one or more perspiration openings on the sole or insole.

6. The method of claim 1 , comprising structural lattice holes selectively permeable to air but not to water, wherein said holes open along part of the outer edge of said the sole or insole and wherein at least one cavity is provided inside said sole or insole wherein said holes open.

7. The method of claim 1 , comprising capturing from one or more a mobile phone images of a user's foot and generating the foot model from the one or more images.

8. The method of claim 1 , comprising: capturing a foot pressure data from walking or running; and applying the foot pressure data to a 3D model to generate a foot support shape on the sole or insole.

9. The method of claim 1 , comprising designing a sole shape or insole shape for energy absorption.

10. The method of claim 1 , comprising attaching an upper to the sole.

11. A system, comprising:

a mobile phone to scan a foot model;

a software to place the foot model proximal to a shoe model, wherein the software creates a digital structure based on the foot model to support a heel, a foot arch and a ball area of the foot; and

a fabricator with a computer controlled bed of pins to form a sole or insole shape, the fabricator receiving the digital structure and forming a sole or insole to provide foot support.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the fabricator uses additive manufacturing.

13. The system of claim 11 , wherein one or more perspiration openings are formed on the high heel sole or insole.

14. The system of claim 11 , wherein the digital structure comprises holes selectively permeable to air but not to water, wherein said holes open along part of the outer edge of said the sole or insole and wherein at least one cavity is provided inside said sole or insole wherein said holes open.

15. The system of claim 11 , wherein the mobile phone captures from mobile phone images of a user's foot and generates the foot model from the images.

16. The system of claim 11 , comprising: capturing foot pressure data during walking or running; and applying the foot pressure data to the 3D model to generate a foot support shape on the sole or insole.

17. The system of claim 11 , wherein the software generates a sole shape or an insole shape for energy absorption.

18. The system of claim 11 , comprising an upper coupled to the sole.
