Abstract

This disclosure describes techniques for providing information associated with an inter-cluster segment. For instance, system(s) may determine dependencies for first services associated with a first cluster and second dependencies for second services associated with a second cluster. The system(s) may then determine information for interconnections between the first cluster and the second cluster. The information may include at least dependencies for third services included in the inter-cluster segment and/or performance information for the third services. The system(s) may then generate a user interface that includes the first dependencies for the first services, the second dependencies for the second services, and the information for the inter-cluster segment. This way, a user is able to use the user interface to identify both problems occurring within the clusters and/or problems that are caused by the third services in the inter-cluster segment.

Claims (36)

1. A method for providing flow visibility for data flow between services of a service provider in a secure network environment, the method comprising:

routing an encrypted data flow over a network that connects a first service of the secure network environment with a second service of the secure network environment;

obtaining, from at least one of a first device associated with the first service or a second device associated with the second service, routing information of the encrypted data flow that includes, in headers of the encrypted data flow, identifiers that are associated with the first service or the second service, the identifiers being generated and assigned to the first service or the second service by a management tool of the network based on determining there is an interconnection between the first service and the second service;

determining, based at least in part on the identifiers and the routing information, dependencies between the first service and the second service within the secure network environment; and

generating a user interface to visually represent information regarding the dependencies between the first service and the second service.

2. The method as in claim 1 , wherein the user interface further comprises an interface element for viewing the information, further comprising:

providing the user interface;

receiving input data representing a selection of the interface element; and

based at least in part on the selection of the interface element, causing the user interface to include visual elements representing the information along with the dependencies between the first service and the second service, the dependencies.

3. The method as in claim 1 , generating a health score for at least one of the first service or the second service, the health score being based at least in part upon the dependencies between the first service and the second service.

4. The method as in claim 3 , further comprising generating the user interface to provide the dependencies between the first service and second service and the health score for at least one of the first service or the second service.

5. The method as in claim 3 , wherein the health score includes one or more of a latency, an error rate, or a packet drop rate.

6. The method as in claim 1 , wherein the network further connects with a third device associated with a third service, and the routing information of the encrypted data flow is obtained by at least one of the first device, the second device, or the third device.

7. The method as in claim 1 , wherein the headers further comprise metadata or signaling associated with the first service or the second service.

8. A system for providing network analytics, the system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

routing an encrypted data flow over a network that connects a first service of a first service cluster with a second service of a second service cluster;

obtaining routing information of the encrypted data flow, the routing information being obtained from at least one of a first device associated with the first service of the first service cluster or a second device associated with the second service of the second service cluster;

determining dependencies between the first service and the second service based at least in part upon the routing information, the dependencies including first dependencies associated with the first service cluster and second dependencies associated with the second service cluster; and

generating a user interface to provide information regarding the dependencies between the first service cluster and the second service of the second service cluster, the user interface comprising visual representations of the dependencies.

9. The system as in claim 8 , wherein the user interface further comprises an interface element to view the information.

10. The system as in claim 8 , the operations further comprising generating a health score for at least one of the first service or the second service, the health score being based at least in part upon the dependencies between the first service and the second service.

11. The system as in claim 10 , further comprising generating the user interface to provide the dependencies between the first service and second service and the health score for at least one of the first service or the second service.

12. The system as in claim 10 , wherein the health score includes one or more of a latency, an error rate, or a packet drop rate.

13. The system as in claim 8 , wherein the network further connects a third device associated with a third service, and the routing information of the encrypted data flow is obtained by at least one of the first device, the second device, or the third device.

14. The system as in claim 8 , wherein the routing information further comprises identifiers associated with the first service or the second service in headers of data packets, the identifiers being generated and assigned to the first service or the second service in response to determining that there is an interconnection between the first service cluster and the second service cluster.

15. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

routing, within a secure network environment, an encrypted data flow over a network that connects a first service with a second service;

obtaining, from at least one of a first device associated with the first service or a second device associated with the second service, routing information of the encrypted data flow that includes, in headers of the encrypted data flow, identifiers that are associated with the first service or the second service, the identifiers being generated and assigned by a management tool of the network; and

determining, based at least in part on the identifiers and the routing information, dependencies between the first service and the second service within the secure network environment.

16. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media as in claim 15 , the operations further comprising generating a user interface to provide information regarding the dependencies between the first service and the second service.

17. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media as in claim 15 , the operations further comprising generating a health score for at least one of the first service or the second service, the health score being based at least in part upon the dependencies between the first service and the second service.

18. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media as in claim 17 , the operations further comprising, generating a user interface to provide the dependencies between the first service and second service and the health score for at least one of the first service or the second service.

19. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media as in claim 17 , wherein the health score includes one or more of a latency, an error rate, or a packet drop rate.

20. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media as in claim 15 , wherein the headers further comprise metadata or signaling associated with the first service or the second service.
