Abstract

A condensed cyclic compound and an organic light-emitting device including the same.

Claims (41)

1. An organic light-emitting device comprising:

a first electrode;

a second electrode; and

an organic layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and comprising an emission layer,

wherein the emission layer comprises a condensed cyclic compound represented by Formula 1 and FIr6, wherein the emission layer emits blue light:

A 11 -L 11 -L 12 -A 12 ,  Formula 1

wherein, in Formula 1,

i) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-3, and A 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, 5-43, or 5-101 to 5-104; or

ii) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-101, and A 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, or 5-43,

L 11 is a group represented by one of Formulae 2-15, 2-22, 2-23, or 2-102, and L 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 3-15, 3-22, or 3-23, or

L 11 is a group represented by one of Formulae 2-15, 2-22, or 2-23, and L 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 3-15, 3-22, 3-23, or 3-102, and

wherein the condensed cyclic compound comprises two or three cyano groups:

wherein:

R 11a to R 11d and R 12a to R 12d , R 13a to R 13d , R 14a to R 14d , R 15a to R 15d , and R 16a to R 16d , R 21a to R 21d , R 31a to R 31d are each independently hydrogen or deuterium, and

* and *′ each indicate a binding site to a neighboring atom.

2. The organic light-emitting device of claim 1 , wherein in the condensed cyclic compound,

i) A 11 is a group represented by Formulae 4-3 or 4-101, and A 12 is a group represented by Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, or 5-43; or

ii) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-3, and A 12 is a group represented by Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, 5-43, or 5-101 to 5-104.

3. The organic light-emitting device of claim 1 , wherein in the condensed cyclic compound,

i) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-3, and A 12 is a group represented by Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-14, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, 5-43, or 5-101 to 5-104; or

ii) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-101, and A 12 is a group represented by Formulae 5-3, 5-6, 5-10, 5-17, 5-21, 5-25, 5-32, 5-36, 5-40, or 5-43.

4. The organic light-emitting device of claim 1 , wherein in the condensed cyclic compound,

i) L 11 is a group represented by Formula 2-15, and L 12 is a group represented by Formula 3-102;

ii) L 11 is a group represented by Formula 2-102, and L 12 is represented by Formula 3-15;

iii) L 11 is a group represented by Formula 2-15, and L 12 is a group represented by Formula 3-15;

iv) L 11 is a group represented by Formulae 2-22 to 2-23, and L 12 is a group represented by Formula 3-102; or

v) L 11 is a group represented by Formula 2-102, and L 12 is a group represented by Formulae 3-22 to 2-23.

5. The organic light-emitting device of claim 1 , wherein the condensed cyclic compound is one of Compounds 641-713 and 715-800 Group I

6. A condensed cyclic compound represented by Formula 1:

A 11 -L 11 -L 12 -A 12 ,  Formula 1

wherein, in Formula 1,

i) A 11 is a group represented by one of Formulae 4-1 to 4-4, and A 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 5-1 to 5-11, 5-23 to 5-44, 5-101, 5-103 and 5-104; or

ii) A 11 is a group represented by Formula 4-101, and A 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 5-1 to 5-11 and 5-23 to 5-44,

L 11 is a group represented by one of Formulae 2-2 to 2-3,

L 12 is a group represented by one of Formulae 3-2 to 3-3, and:

R 11a to R 11a , R 12a to R 12d , R 13a to R 13a , R 14a to R 14a , R 15a to R 15 , and R 16a to R 16a , R 21 and R 31 are each independently hydrogen, deuterium, —F, a nitro group, —CH 3 , —CD 3 , —CD 2 H, —CDH 2 , —CF 3 , —CF 2 H, —CFH 2 , groups represented by Formulae 9-1 to 9-15, or groups represented by Formulae 9-1 to 9-15 of which a hydrogen is substituted with deuterium,

in Formulae 2-2 to 2-3 and 3-2 to 3-3,

k21 and k31 are each independently 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4,

the sum of k21 and k31 is 1 or more,

and

* and *′ each indicate a binding site to a neighboring atom.
