Abstract

A toner container includes a pouch configured to accommodate the toner therein and provided with an opening at a first end portion of the pouch with respect to a first direction, with a width of the pouch in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction being wider than a width of the pouch in a third direction that is perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction. A first supporting portion supports the pouch on a first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the first supporting portion extending in a direction from the first end portion of the pouch to a second end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first end portion of the pouch. A second supporting portion supports the pouch on a second side of the first end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the second supporting portion extending in the direction from the first end portion of the pouch to the second end portion of the pouch.

Claims (18)

1. A toner container for accommodating toner, the toner container comprising:

a pouch configured to accommodate the toner therein and provided with an opening at a first end portion of the pouch with respect to a first direction, with a width of the pouch in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction being wider than a width of the pouch in a third direction that is perpendicular to both the first direction and the second direction;

a base attached to the first end portion of the pouch and provided with a supplying opening communicating with the opening of the pouch, the supplying opening being configured to permit supply of the toner to outside of the toner container;

a shutter configured to move between an open position and a closed position with respect to the base, the open position being a position in which the shutter opens the supplying opening to permit supply of the toner to outside of the toner container, the closed position being a position in which the shutter closes the supplying opening, with the shutter being engaged to the base in the open position and the closed position;

a first supporting portion provided outside of the pouch and supporting the pouch on a first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the first supporting portion extending in a direction from the first end portion of the pouch to a second end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the first direction; and

a second supporting portion provided outside of the pouch and supporting the pouch on a second side of the first end portion of the pouch that is opposite to the first side of the first end portion of the pouch with respect to the second direction, the second supporting portion extending in the direction from the first end portion of the pouch to the second end portion of the pouch,

wherein, as seen in the third direction, a central portion of the pouch between the first supporting portion and the second supporting portion with respect to the second direction is exposed to outside of the first and second supporting portions.

2. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the base includes the first supporting portion and the second supporting portion, and

wherein the opening of the pouch is positioned between the first supporting portion and the second supporting portion in the second direction.

3. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second supporting portions extend at least to a center of the pouch in the first direction.

4. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the first and second supporting portions extend along edges on the first and second sides of the first end portion of the pouch, respectively, in the direction from the first end portion of the pouch to the second end portion of the pouch.

5. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the pouch includes a part where a width of the pouch in the second direction becomes narrower toward the base in the first direction.

6. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the pouch is constituted by a resin sheet.

7. A toner container according to claim 1 , wherein the shutter is rotatable between the open position and the closed position about a rotational axis extending in the first direction, and

wherein, as seen in the third direction, the rotational axis of the shutter is provided between the first supporting portion and the second supporting portion in the second direction.

8. A toner container according to claim 7 , wherein the base includes a hole that opens in a direction from the pouch to the base in the first direction,

wherein the rotational axis of the shutter passes through the hole, and

wherein the hole of the base is exposed outside of the toner container when the shutter is in the closed position.
