Abstract

Task reminder surfacing in a communication system is described. One implementation involves receiving a set of messages associated with a member device and a representative device, processing the set of messages to generate task data including one or more task recommendations associated with the set of messages, wherein the one or more task recommendations correspond to a set of tasks performable on behalf of the member, and tracking a real-time chat flow within a chat interface. The real-time chat flow is processed in real-time as messages of the set of messages are received using a scheduling algorithm to select a position or timing for one or more reminders associated with the one or more task recommendations, the reminders are automatically inserted within the chat flow using the position or timing for the one or more reminders, and the one or more reminders are presented within the chat flow.

Claims (66)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving a set of messages associated with a member device and a representative device, wherein the representative device is associated with a representative assigned to a member associated with the member device for performance of tasks on behalf of the member;

processing the set of messages to generate task data including one or more task recommendations associated with the set of messages, wherein the one or more task recommendations correspond to a set of tasks performable on behalf of the member;

tracking a real-time chat flow within a chat interface, wherein the set of messages are exchanged within the chat interface using the member device and the representative device;

tracking usage data using a chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system identifies dates and times when the member interacts with the real-time chat flow;

tracking member response data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system determines times when the member was responsive to past automated reminders;

accessing calendar data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the calendar data is associated with the member device;

selecting a timing for one or more future reminders, wherein selecting includes processing the calendar data, the usage data, and the member response data using a scheduling algorithm to determine a timing that is likely to trigger the member to take action on the one or more task recommendations; and

facilitating presentation of the one or more future reminders by inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow, wherein the one or more future reminders are inserted according to the timing.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

simultaneously receiving messages from a plurality of member devices including the member device; and

simultaneously processing the messages from the plurality of member devices to generate associated task data, update associated chat streams on associated representative devices.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving chat interface access data, wherein when the chat interface access data is received from the member device, the chat interface access data is received with a real-time notification of a presentation of the chat interface on the member device, wherein the scheduling algorithm further uses the chat interface access data with the real-time chat flow processing to select a position for the one or more future reminders; and

wherein automatically inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow is performed in real-time as a response to the real-time notification of the presentation of the chat interface on the member device.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a feedback indication from a reminder interaction user interface of the chat interface, wherein the feedback indication comprises a task update communication in a task management application associated with the one or more future reminders; and

updating the scheduling algorithm with a targeted adjustment for the member device based on the feedback indication.

5. A device comprising:

a memory configured to store a set of messages associated with a member and a representative, wherein the representative is assigned to the member for performance of tasks on behalf of the member; and

one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to perform operations including:

receiving a set of messages associated with a member device and a representative device, wherein the representative device is associated with a representative assigned to the member associated with the member device for performance of tasks on behalf of the member;

processing the set of messages to generate task data including one or more task recommendations associated with the set of messages, wherein the one or more task recommendations correspond to a set of tasks performable on behalf of the member;

tracking a real-time chat flow within a chat interface, wherein the set of messages are exchanged within the chat interface using the member device and the representative device;

tracking usage data using a chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system identifies dates and times when the member interacts with the real-time chat flow;

tracking member response data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system determines times when the member was responsive to past automated reminders;

accessing calendar data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the calendar data is associated with the member device;

selecting a timing for one or more future reminders, wherein selecting includes processing the calendar data, the usage data, and the member response data using a scheduling algorithm to determine a timing that is likely to trigger the member to take action on the one or more task recommendations; and

facilitating presentation of the one or more future reminders by inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow, wherein the one or more future reminders are inserted according to the timing.

6. The device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured for operations comprising:

simultaneously receiving messages from a plurality of member devices including the member device; and

simultaneously processing the messages from the plurality of member devices to generate associated task data, update associated chat streams on associated representative devices.

7. The device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured for operations comprising:

receiving chat interface access data, wherein when the chat interface access data is received from the member device, the chat interface access data is received with a real-time notification of a presentation of the chat interface on the member device, wherein the scheduling algorithm further uses the chat interface access data with the real-time chat flow processing to select a position for the one or more future reminders; and

wherein automatically inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow for the one or more future reminders is performed in real-time as a response to the real-time notification of the presentation of the chat interface on the member device.

8. The device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured for operations comprising:

receiving a feedback indication from a reminder interaction user interface of the chat interface, wherein the feedback indication comprises a task update communication in a task management application associated with the one or more future reminders; and

updating the scheduling algorithm with a targeted adjustment for the member device based on the feedback indication.

9. A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a device, cause the device to perform operations comprising:

receiving a set of messages associated with a member device and a representative device, wherein the representative device is associated with a representative assigned to a member associated with the member device for performance of tasks on behalf of the member;

processing the set of messages to generate task data including one or more task recommendations associated with the set of messages, wherein the one or more task recommendations correspond to a set of tasks performable on behalf of the member;

tracking a real-time chat flow within a chat interface, wherein the set of messages are exchanged within the chat interface using the member device and the representative device;

tracking usage data using a chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system identifies dates and times when the member interacts with the real-time chat flow;

tracking member response data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the chat usage tracking system determines times when the member was responsive to past automated reminders;

accessing calendar data using the chat usage tracking system, wherein the calendar data is associated with the member device;

selecting a timing for one or more future reminders, wherein selecting includes processing the calendar data, the usage data, and the member response data using a scheduling algorithm to determine a timing that is likely to trigger the member to take action on the one or more task recommendations; and

facilitating presentation of the one or more future reminders by inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow, wherein the one or more future reminders are inserted according to the timing.

10. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the device to perform operations comprising:

simultaneously receiving messages from a plurality of member devices including the member device; and

simultaneously processing the messages from the plurality of member devices to generate associated task data, update associated chat streams on associated representative devices.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 wherein the instructions further cause the device to perform operations comprising:

receiving chat interface access data, wherein when the chat interface access data is received from the member device, the chat interface access data is received with a real-time notification of a presentation of the chat interface on the member device, wherein the scheduling algorithm further uses the chat interface access data with the real-time chat flow processing to select a position for the one or more future reminders; and

wherein automatically inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow is performed in real-time as a response to the real-time notification of the presentation of the chat interface on the member device.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a response to the one or more future reminders, wherein the response requests a resurfacing of the one or more future reminders; and

facilitating modification of the real-time chat flow to adjust a presentation of the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow by dynamically selecting a new time or position within the real-time chat flow to present the one or more future reminders.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising updating the scheduling algorithm using the usage data, the member response data, the calendar data, and device motion data.

14. The device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured for operations comprising:

receiving a response to the one or more future reminders, wherein the response requests a resurfacing of the one or more future reminders; and

facilitating modification of the real-time chat flow to adjust a presentation of the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow by dynamically selecting a new time or position within the real-time chat flow to present the one or more future reminders.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9 wherein the instructions further cause the device to perform operations comprising:

receiving a response to the one or more future reminders, wherein the response requests a resurfacing of the one or more future reminders; and

facilitating modification of the real-time chat flow to adjust a presentation of the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow by dynamically selecting a new time or position within the real-time chat flow to present the one or more future reminders.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the timing for the one or more future reminders is based on a number of new chats since last chat flow access.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the scheduling algorithm further determines a position for the one or more future reminders, and wherein automatically inserting the one or more future reminders within the real-time chat flow further uses the position for the one or more future reminders.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein selecting includes processing an expected duration of the tasks associated with the one or more future reminders.
