Abstract

Gaming systems configured to provide a first quantity of activations of symbol displays of a game and then a second quantity of activations of the symbols displays of the game. For each of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, the gaming system is configured to, for each occurrence of any one of first, second, and third activators: (i) determine if that activator causes an activation of the pot associated with that activator and the feature associated therewith, (ii) responsive to the activator not resulting in an activation of the pot associated with the activator, display a change to an activator occurrence indicator associated with that pot, and (iii) responsive to the activator resulting in an activation of the pot associated with the activator, display an indication of an activated feature associated with the activated pot, wherein for the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, each of the first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots can become activated features. For each of the second quantity of activations of the symbol displays, the gaming system is configured to, for each activated feature, provide that activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays.

Claims (58)

1. A gaming system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by a display device, of symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of first, second, and third pots associated with but separate from the symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of indications of first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a first quantity of activations of the symbol displays and of a second quantity of activations of the symbols displays, wherein the first quantity is greater than zero and the second quantity is greater than zero, and wherein for the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays each of the first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots can become an activated feature;

for each of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

responsive to a display, by the display device, of any one of the first, second, and third activators and responsive to said activator not resulting in an activation of the pot associated with said activator, cause a display, by the display device, of a change to an activator occurrence indicator associated with said pot, and

responsive to a display, by the display device, of any one of the first, second, and third activators and responsive to said activator resulting in an activation of the pot associated with said activator, cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of an activated feature associated with said pot; and

for each of the second quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

for each activated feature, cause a display, by the display device of an indication of said activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays.

2. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first quantity and the second quantity are predetermined.

3. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein one of the first quantity and the second quantity is player selectable.

4. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein both of the first quantity and the second quantity are player selectable.

5. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first, second, and third features associated with the first, second, and third pots are different features.

6. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first, second, and third pots are perceived persistent pots.

7. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first, second, and third pots are actual persistent pots.

8. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein for each of the displayed first, second, and third activators during the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, the determination of whether the feature associated with the pot associated with the activator is activated is based on an independent random determination for the activator.

9. A gaming system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by a display device, of symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of first, second, and third pots associated with but separate from the symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of indications of first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a first quantity of activations of the symbol displays and of a second quantity of activations of the symbols displays, wherein the first quantity is greater than zero and the second quantity is greater than zero, and wherein for the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays each of the first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots can become an activated feature;

for each of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

responsive to a display, by the display device, of any one of the first, second, and third activators and responsive to said activator not resulting in an activation of the pot associated with said activator, cause a display, by the display device, of a change to an activator occurrence indicator associated with said pot, and

responsive to a display, by the display device, of any one of the first, second, and third activators and responsive to said activator resulting in an activation of the pot associated with said activator, cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of an activated feature associated with said pot;

for one the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, for one of the features activated during a previous one of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, cause a display, by the display device of an indication of said activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays; and

for each of the second quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

for each activated feature, cause a display, by the display device of an indication of said activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays.

10. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the first quantity and the second quantity are predetermined.

11. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the first, second, and third features associated with the first, second, and third pots are different features.

12. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the first, second, and third pots are perceived persistent pots.

13. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the first, second, and third pots are actual persistent pots.

14. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, for each of a plurality of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

for one of the activated features during a previous one of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, cause a display, by the display device of an indication of said activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays.

15. The gaming system of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to, for each of a plurality of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays:

for each of the activated features during any previous one of the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays, cause a display, by the display device of an indication of said activated feature in association with the activation of the symbols displays.

16. A gaming system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

cause a display, by a display device, of symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of first, second, and third pots associated with but separate from the symbol displays;

cause a display, by the display device, of indications of first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots;

cause a display, by the display device, of an indication of a first quantity of activations of the symbol displays and of a second quantity of activations of the symbols displays, wherein the first quantity is greater than zero and the second quantity is greater than zero, and wherein for the first quantity of activations of the symbol displays each of the first, second, and third features respectively associated with the first, second, and third pots can become activated features;
