Abstract

An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus for performing intra prediction mode based intra prediction are provided. An image decoding method may comprise decoding an intra prediction mode of a current block, deriving at least one intra prediction mode from the decoded intra prediction mode of the current block, generating two or more intra prediction blocks using the intra prediction mode of the current block and the derived intra prediction mode, and generating an intra prediction block of the current block based on the two or more intra prediction blocks.

Claims (23)

1. An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus, the method comprising:

deriving intra prediction mode for a current block;

deriving reference samples of the current block;

deriving prediction samples for the current block based on the reference samples; and

deriving a reconstructed picture based on the prediction samples,

wherein the reference samples include a top-left reference sample of the current block, a top reference sample of the current block and a left reference sample of the current block,

wherein a prediction sample for the current block is derived using the top-left reference sample, the top reference sample, and the left reference sample, and

wherein based on a second difference value between the top-left reference sample and the left reference sample being greater than a first difference value between the top-left reference sample and the top reference sample, the prediction sample is derived based on the left reference sample.

2. An image encoding method performed by an image encoding apparatus, the method comprising:

deriving intra prediction mode for a current block;

deriving reference samples of the current block;

deriving prediction samples for the current block based on the reference samples;

deriving residual samples based on the prediction samples, and

encoding image information comprising prediction mode information for the current block,

wherein the reference samples include a top-left reference sample of the current block, a top reference sample of the current block and a left reference sample of the current block,

wherein a prediction sample for the current block is derived using the top-left reference sample, the top reference sample, and the left reference sample, and

wherein based on a second difference value between the top-left reference sample and the left reference sample being greater than a first difference value between the top-left reference sample and the top reference sample, the prediction sample is derived based on the left reference sample.

3. A transmission method for image data, the method comprising:

obtaining a bitstream for the image data, wherein the bitstream is generated based on deriving intra prediction mode for a current block; deriving reference samples of the current block; deriving prediction samples for the current block based on the reference samples; deriving residual samples based on the prediction samples and encoding image information comprising prediction mode information; and

transmitting the image data comprising the bitstream,

wherein the reference samples include a top-left reference sample of the current block, a top reference sample of the current block and a left reference sample of the current block,

wherein a prediction sample for the current block is derived using the top-left reference sample, the top reference sample, and the left reference sample, and

wherein based on a second difference value between the top-left reference sample and the left reference sample being greater than a first difference value between the top-left reference sample and the top reference sample, the prediction sample is derived based on the left reference sample.
