Abstract

A mask assembly can include a mask seal. In some configurations, the mask assembly can be configured to be fully positioned lower than a bridge of a nose of a face of a user and to provide an exposed bridge of the nose of the user. The mask seal can comprise a nasal region comprising at least one nasal opening, a first paddle on a first side of the nasal region and a second paddle on a second side of the nasal region. The first paddle is configured to contact one side of the nose of the user and the second paddle is configured to contact the other side of the nose of the user.

Claims (15)

1 . An interface assembly comprising a mask assembly and a frame that is separate from the mask assembly, the frame comprising at least one headgear connector configured to allow a headgear to be connected to the frame, the mask assembly comprising a housing comprising an inlet, and a mask seal connected to the housing and having a sealing surface, the interface assembly further comprising a conduit connector configured to connect to a gases supply conduit for supplying a supply of pressurized breathing gases to an interior of the mask assembly, the conduit connector comprising an inlet connector and a frame connection slot formed in the conduit connector, the inlet connector of the conduit connector being configured to connect directly to the inlet of the housing to connect the conduit connector to the mask assembly, and the frame being configured to fit into the frame connection slot of the conduit connector to connect the frame to the conduit connector, wherein a lateral plane extends perpendicular to the sealing surface of the mask seal, the conduit connector being configured to connect to and/or disconnect from the housing in a first direction that is angled downward from the lateral plane, and the frame being configured to connect to and/or disconnect from the conduit connector in a second direction that is perpendicular to the lateral plane.

2 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein the conduit connector is an elbow having an upper portion and a lower portion separated by a bend.

3 . The interface assembly of claim 2 , wherein the frame connection slot is positioned offset from an end of the upper portion of the elbow.

4 . The interface assembly of claim 2 , wherein the frame includes an elbow connector configured to receive at least a portion of the elbow.

5 . The interface assembly of claim 4 , wherein the elbow connector includes a pair of retention bumps configured to engage with corresponding connection features of the elbow.

6 . The interface assembly of claim 5 , wherein the corresponding connection features of the elbow comprise retention notches positioned in the frame connection slot of the elbow.

7 . The interface assembly of claim 2 , wherein the frame connection slot is positioned on the lower portion of the elbow on one side of the bend.

8 . The interface assembly of claim 2 , wherein the frame connection slot wraps entirely around the elbow.

9 . The interface assembly of claim 2 , wherein the frame connection slot extends around only a portion of the elbow.

10 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein the inlet connector removably connects the conduit connector to the inlet of the housing.

11 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein, when the conduit connector is connected to the housing, the conduit connector is non-rotatable.

12 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a front concave surface that at least partially surrounds the inlet of the housing.

13 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein the conduit connector includes an anti-asphyxia valve.

14 . The interface assembly of claim 1 , wherein the frame connection slot is defined between a first wall of the conduit connector and a second wall of the conduit connector that is spaced from the first wall.

15 . The interface assembly of claim 14 , wherein the frame includes a portion that is received within the frame connection slot and is positioned between the first wall and the second wall when the frame is connected to the conduit connector.
