Abstract

The present disclosure provides a new bra assembly that allows for the fashionable fit of two or more bra sized wearers in a single bra sized garment. The present disclosure also provides for a bra assembly that enables wearers with different cup sizes, as well as many different underband sizes, to comfortable fit into the same bra sized garment.

Claims (25)

1 . A garment for two or more different sized wearers having different cup sizes and/or different band sizes, the garment comprising:

an inner ply of fabric;

an outer ply of fabric connected to the inner ply of fabric forming an interior volume;

a first cup assembly formed by a first portion of the inner ply of fabric, a first portion of the outer ply of fabric and a first cup insert;

a second cup assembly formed by a second portion of the inner ply of fabric, a second portion of the outer ply of fabric and a second cup insert, the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric each being stretchable so that the first cup insert and the second cup insert are each movable in a horizontal direction, a vertical direction, and a diagonal direction upon stretch of the inner ply of fabric and the outer layer of fabric; and

a band connected to the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric,

wherein the first cup insert has a first top portion and a first bottom portion and the second cup insert has a second top portion and a second bottom portion,

wherein the first bottom portion and the second bottom portion are adjacent the band, and

wherein the first cup insert is stitched to the inner and/or outer ply of fabric only at the first bottom portion and the second cup insert is stitched to the inner and/or outer ply of fabric only at the second bottom portion.

2 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the inner ply of fabric is connected to the outer ply of fabric at a top edge, a bottom edge, a first side edge and a second side edge to form the interior volume that is continuous and unified.

3 . The garment of claim 2 , wherein the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric are molded to form a convex shape that has a circumference from 7.5 cm to 23 cm and a depth of 0.5 cm to 17 cm having tolerance of +/−17 percent at a location where the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric overlap opposite sides of the first cup insert, and wherein the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric are molded to form a convex shape that has a circumference from 7.5 cm to 23 cm and a depth of 0.5 cm to 17 cm having tolerance of +/−17 percent at a location where the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric overlap opposite sides of the second cup insert.

4 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the inner ply of fabric is connected to the outer ply of fabric at a top edge, a bottom edge, a first side edge and a second side edge by being a folded layer of fabric and secured together to form the interior volume.

5 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric are molded at a location where the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric overlap opposite sides of the first cup insert, and wherein the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric are molded at a location where the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric overlap opposite sides of the second cup insert.

6 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the inner ply of fabric, the outer ply of fabric, or both the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric has a first opening adjacent the first cup insert to access the interior volume and the inner ply of fabric, the outer ply of fabric, or both the inner ply of fabric and the outer ply of fabric has a second opening adjacent the second cup insert to access the interior volume.

7 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the first ply of fabric and the second ply of fabric each has a fabric length elongation range of 60-220% and fabric width elongation range of 70-240%.

8 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the first ply of fabric and the second ply of fabric each has a spandex content of 5-40% and a nylon or polyester content of 60-95%.

9 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the first ply of fabric and the second ply of fabric each has a fabric weight of 2.4-8 oz/yd 2 .

10 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the band is a material having an elongation at 20 lbf in a range of 90 percent to 190 percent having a tolerance of +/−20 percent.

11 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the band has a fiber content of 50-95% of nylon, polyester, or any other synthetic or natural yarn, and a spandex content of 5-50%.

12 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the inner ply of fabric has an inner top edge and an inner bottom edge and the outer ply of fabric has an outer top edge and an outer bottom edge, wherein the outer top edge is connected to the inner top edge and the outer bottom edge is connected to the inner bottom edge forming the interior volume, and wherein the outer top edge and the inner top edge are each connected to an exterior layer that is molded at a location of the first cup insert and a location of the second cup insert.

13 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the band is a continuous band.

14 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the bra assembly has a distance between closest points of the first cup insert and the second cup insert that is less than 30 percent of a size of the band.

15 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the band comprises a first end and a second end in a back portion that is opposite the first cup assembly and the second cup assembly, and further comprises an adjustable closure assembly that selectively connects the first end and the second end of the band together.

16 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the band is an adjustable band having a first end and a second end with the first end and the second end having a closure to removably connect the first end to the second end at a front of the garment.

17 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the garment is a dress, a swim top, a one-piece swimsuit, a tank top, a t-shirt, an athletic-wear top, a long-sleeve shirt, a sleep top, lingerie, a camisole, or any other garment that can incorporate a bra.
