Abstract

A garment hanger handling device comprising a housing and a gripping tool adapted to grip and hold a garment hanger. The gripping tool is adapted to pick up a garment hanger at a loading station, to move the garment hanger to a mounting station, and to forward the garment hanger to an unloading station. The garment hanger handling device is provided with a linear actuator adapted to move the gripping tool in a vertical direction and a rotational actuator adapted to rotate the gripping tool around a vertical axis. The gripping tool is adapted to position the garment hanger in a predefined rotational and vertical position at the mounting station in dependency of an input signal. A position where a garment is applied on a garment hanger can be adapted to the length of the operator, type of hanger, and garment. The position can be adjusted for each mounting cycle.

Claims (29)

1 . A garment hanger handling device comprising:

a housing; and

a gripping tool adapted to grip and hold a garment hanger, wherein the gripping tool is adapted to pick up a garment hanger at a loading station, to move the garment hanger to a mounting station, and to forward the garment hanger to an unloading station, wherein the garment hanger handling device is provided with a linear actuator adapted to move the gripping tool in a vertical direction, wherein the garment hanger handling device is provided with a rotational actuator adapted to rotate the gripping tool around a vertical center axis of the garment hanger handling device while maintaining the garment hanger at a fixed mounting station position during rotation, and wherein the gripping tool is adapted to position the garment hanger in a predefined rotational and vertical position at the mounting station in dependency of an input signal identifying a type of garment to be hung on the garment hanger, and wherein the predefined rotational and vertical position is adjusted in dependency of the input signal.

2 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 1 , wherein the gripping tool is adapted to hold the garment hanger at the predefined rotational and vertical position until a send signal is issued.

3 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 1 , wherein that the gripping tool is adapted to collapse a garment hanger at the loading station.

4 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 1 , wherein the input signal further comprises information regarding one or more of: a length of an operator, a type of garment hanger, or a desired rotational orientation of the garment hanger.

5 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 1 , wherein the garment hanger handling device comprises: a data reader adapted to identify a type of garment hanger.

6 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 5 , wherein the type of garment hanger is associated with the type of garment.

7 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 6 , wherein the data reader is arranged at the mounting station.

8 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 1 , wherein the garment hanger handling device comprises:

a data reader adapted to identify the type of garment that is to be hung on a garment hanger.

9 . The garment hanger handling device according to claim 8 , wherein the data reader is arranged at the mounting station.

10 . A conveyor system, comprising:

at least one garment hanger handling device, the at least one garment hanger handling device comprising:

a housing; and

a gripping tool adapted to grip and hold a garment hanger, wherein the gripping tool is adapted to pick up a garment hanger at a loading station, to move the garment hanger to a mounting station, and to forward the garment hanger to an unloading station, wherein the at least one garment hanger handling device is provided with a linear actuator adapted to move the gripping tool in a vertical direction, wherein the at least one garment hanger handling device is provided with a rotational actuator adapted to rotate the gripping tool around a vertical center axis of the garment hanger handling device while maintaining the garment hanger at a fixed mounting station position during rotation, and wherein the gripping tool is adapted to position the garment hanger in a predefined rotational and vertical position at the mounting station in dependency of an input signal identifying a type of garment to be hung on the garment hanger, and wherein the predefined rotational and vertical position is adjusted in dependency of the input signal.

11 . The conveyor system according to claim 10 , wherein the conveyor system further comprises:

at least one loading station; and

at least one unloading station.

12 . The conveyor system according to claim 10 , wherein the conveyor system comprises:

a user interface by which the garment that is to be hung on a garment hanger is identified.

13 . The conveyor system according to claim 12 , wherein the identified garment is associated with a data holder of a garment hanger.

14 . A method for positioning an empty garment hanger in an individual mounting position in a garment hanger handling device, the method comprising:

picking up an empty garment hanger at a loading station with a gripping tool;

reading a data signal identifying a type of garment that is to be hung on the empty garment hanger;

moving the empty garment hanger to a mounting station;

adjusting a rotational direction of the empty garment hanger around a vertical center axis of the garment hanger handling device while maintaining the garment hanger at a fixed mounting station position during rotation in dependency of the data signal;

adjusting a vertical position of the empty garment hanger in dependency of the data signal; and

holding the empty garment hanger in the individual mounting position.
