Abstract

A method includes generating a graphical user interface including a graph having graphical elements representing values of a sustainability metric for various time periods, adding instances of a first icon aligned with first graphical elements representing first values of the sustainability metric exceeding a baseline or target value of the sustainability metric, adding instances of a second icon aligned with second graphical elements of representing second values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by less than a threshold amount, and abstaining from adding instances of the first icon or the second icon aligned with third graphical elements representing third values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by more than the threshold amount.

Claims (32)

1 . A method comprising:

generating a graphical user interface comprising a graph comprising a plurality of graphical elements representing values of a sustainability metric for a plurality of time periods;

adding, to the graph, instances of a first icon aligned with first graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing first values of the sustainability metric exceeding a baseline or target value of the sustainability metric;

adding, to the graph, instances of a second icon aligned with second graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing second values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by less than a threshold amount; and

abstaining from adding, to the graph, any instances of the first icon, the second icon, and alternative icons aligned with third graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing third values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by more than the threshold amount.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the graphical user interface further comprises a line overlaid on the graph, the line representing the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric for the plurality of time periods.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric varies over the plurality of time periods.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric is based on historical values of the sustainability metric.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sustainability metric comprises at least one of carbon emissions, carbon footprint, carbon credits, carbon offsets, greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, waste generation, ecological footprint, or resource consumption.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sustainability metric comprises values of resource consumption for the plurality of time periods or is derived from the values of the resource consumption for the plurality of time periods.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the graph comprises a bar graph, a line graph, a histogram, a bubble chart, a color coded chart, or a column chart.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the graph comprises a first axis indicating the plurality of time periods and a second axis indicating the values of the sustainability metric.

9 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing program instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

generating a graphical user interface comprising a graph comprising a plurality of graphical elements representing values of a sustainability metric for a plurality of time periods;

adding, to the graph, instances of a first icon aligned with first graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing first values of the sustainability metric exceeding a baseline or target value of the sustainability metric;

adding, to the graph, instances of a second icon aligned with second graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing second values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by less than a threshold amount; and

abstaining from adding, to the graph, any instances of the first icon, the second icon, and alternative icons aligned with third graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing third values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by more than the threshold amount.

10 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the graphical user interface further comprises a line overlaid on the graph, the line representing the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric for the plurality of time periods.

11 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric varies over the plurality of time periods.

12 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric is based on historical values of the sustainability metric.

13 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the sustainability metric comprises at least one of carbon emissions, carbon footprint, carbon credits, carbon offsets, greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, waste generation, ecological footprint, or resource consumption.

14 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the sustainability metric comprises values of resource consumption for the plurality of time periods or is derived from the values of the resource consumption for the plurality of time periods.

15 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the graph comprises a bar graph, a line graph, a histogram, a bubble chart, a color coded chart, or a column chart.

16 . The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 9 , wherein the graph comprises a first axis indicating the plurality of time periods and a second axis indicating the values of the sustainability metric.

17 . A system comprising one or more processing circuits configured to:

generate a graphical user interface comprising a graph comprising a plurality of graphical elements representing values of a sustainability metric for a plurality of time periods;

add, to the graph, instances of a first icon aligned with first graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing first values of the sustainability metric exceeding a baseline or target value of the sustainability metric;

add, to the graph, instances of a second icon aligned with second graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing second values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by less than a threshold amount; and

abstain from adding, to the graph, any instances of the first icon, the second icon, and alternative icons aligned with third graphical elements of the plurality of graphical elements representing third values of the sustainability metric less than the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric by more than the threshold amount.

18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the graphical user interface further comprises a line overlaid on the graph, the line representing the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric for the plurality of time periods.

19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the baseline or target value of the sustainability metric varies over the plurality of time periods.

20 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the sustainability metric comprises at least one of carbon emissions, carbon footprint, carbon credits, carbon offsets, greenhouse gas emissions, water pollution, waste generation, ecological footprint, or resource consumption.
