Abstract

To provide a gateway device that achieves charging control in accordance with a RAT being used by a UE even when the UE is performing communication using different RATs at the same time, the present gateway device ( 30 ) includes a management unit ( 31 ) configured to, when a communication terminal ( 10 ) performs a first radio communication using a first radio access technology and a second radio communication using a second radio access technology, manage at least one bearer assigned to the communication terminal ( 10 ) in association with information indicating the first and second radio access technologies, and a charging system communication unit ( 32 ) configured to transmit the information indicating the first and second radio access technologies to at least one policy charging control device ( 40 ) that performs charging control.

Claims (18)

1 . A first base station, comprising:

a memory configured to store instructions; and

a processor configured to execute the instructions to:

connect to a User Equipment (UE);

initiate an addition procedure for adding a second base station;

forward user data to the second base station;

send, to a mobility management apparatus, an indication message including Radio Access Technology (RAT) type information indicating the second base station, wherein the RAT type information comprises Fifth Generation (5G) RAT in unlicensed bands; and

establish dual connectivity with the second base station based on the RAT type information.

2 . The first base station according to claim 1 ,

wherein the RAT type information is used for charging for the UE.

3 . A method of a first base station, the method comprising:

connecting to a User Equipment (UE);

initiating an addition procedure for adding a second base station;

forwarding user data to the second base station;

sending, to a mobility management apparatus, an indication message including Radio Access Technology (RAT) type information indicating the second base station, wherein the RAT type information comprises Fifth Generation (5G) RAT in unlicensed bands; and

establishing dual connectivity with the second base station based on the RAT type information.

4 . The method according to claim 3 ,

wherein the RAT type information is used for charging for the UE.
