Abstract

A novel maize variety designated X12T101 and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are produced by crossing inbred maize varieties. Methods for producing a maize plant by crossing hybrid maize variety X12T101 with another maize plant are disclosed. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into X12T101 through backcrossing or genetic transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are described. Maize variety X12T101, the seed, the plant produced from the seed, and variants, mutants, and minor modifications of maize variety X12T101 are provided. Methods for producing maize varieties derived from maize variety X12T101 and methods of using maize variety X12T101 are disclosed.

Claims (20)

. A seed of hybrid maize X12T101 produced by crossing a first plant of maize line 1PKTW19 with a second plant of maize line 1PAPB94, wherein representative seeds of the maize lines 1PKTW19 and 1PAPB94 have been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202504027 and 202504053, respectively.

. A plant or plant part of hybrid maize X12T101 grown from the seed of claim 1 , wherein the plant part comprises at least one F1 hybrid maize X12T101 cell.

. A method of producing the seed of claim 1 , the method comprising crossing a plant of the maize line 1PKTW19 with a plant of the maize line 1PAPB94.

. The seed of claim 1 , further comprising a transgene, wherein the transgene is introduced by backcrossing or genetic transformation into the maize line 1PKTW19, the maize line 1PAPB94, or both maize lines 1PKTW19 and 1PAPB94.

. A seed of hybrid maize X12T101 further comprising a single locus conversion, wherein a plant grown from the seed comprises a trait conferred by the single locus conversion, wherein the seed is produced by crossing a first plant of maize line 1PKTW19 with a second plant of maize line 1PAPB94, wherein the first plant, the second plant or both further comprise the single locus conversion, and wherein representative seeds of the maize lines 1PKTW19 and 1PAPB94 have been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202504027 and 202504053, respectively.

. The hybrid maize X12T101 seed of claim 5 , wherein the locus conversion confers a property selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified phytic acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism.

. The hybrid maize X12T101 seed of claim 5 , further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.

. A method for producing nucleic acids, the method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the hybrid maize X12T101 seed of claim 5 .

. A plant or plant part grown from the hybrid maize X12T101 seed of claim 5 , the plant part comprising at least one F1 hybrid maize X12T101 cell further comprising the locus conversion.

. A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising starch, syrup, silage, fat or protein, the method comprising producing the commodity plant product from the plant or plant part of claim 9 .

. A method for producing a second maize plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to the plant or plant part of claim 9 to produce the second maize plant.

. A method for producing a hybrid maize X12T101 seed further comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising crossing a first plant of maize line 1PKTW19 with a second plant of maize line 1PAPB94, representative seeds of the maize lines 1PKTW19 and 1PAPB94 having been deposited under NCMA Accession Numbers 202504027 and 202504053, respectively, wherein at least one of the maize lines 1PKTW19 and 1PAPB94 further comprises the locus conversion.

. An F1 hybrid maize X12T101 seed further comprising a locus conversion produced by the method of claim 12 , wherein the seed produces a plant expressing the traits conferred by the locus conversion and comprising otherwise all the physiological and morphological characteristics of hybrid maize X12T101 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

. The seed of claim 13 , further comprising a seed treatment on the surface of the seed.

. The seed of claim 13 , wherein the locus conversion confers a property selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, disease resistance, waxy starch, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified phytic acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified protein metabolism.

. A method for producing nucleic acids, the method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the seed of claim 13 .

. A plant or plant part produced by growing the seed of claim 13 , the plant part comprising at least one F1 hybrid maize X12T101 cell further comprising the locus conversion.

. A method for producing nucleic acids, the method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant or plant part of claim 17 .

. A method of producing a commodity plant product comprising starch, syrup, silage, fat or protein, the method comprising producing the commodity plant product from the plant or plant part of claim 17 .

. A method for producing a second maize plant, the method comprising crossing the maize plant or plant part of claim 17 with itself or with a different maize plant.
