Abstract

An automatic incident compilation system includes a media facilitator configured to receive a plurality of media files related to an incident. An application server is communicatively coupled to the media facilitator and includes a processor and memory containing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to provide a storyboard application to a user. The storyboard application includes a storyboard creation user interface that is configured to allow a user to generate a user-customized display of the incident based on the plurality of media files. The processor is also configured to cause the storyboard application to change time information of one of the plurality of media files based on time information of another of the plurality of media files.

Claims (19)

1 . An automatic incident compilation system comprising:

a media facilitator configured to receive a first media file related to an incident from a first device, the first media file having first media file time information, the media facilitator being configured to receive a second media file related to the incident from a second device, the second media file having second media file time information, wherein the media facilitator is configured to store the first media file and second media file in cloud storage;

an application server communicatively coupled to the media facilitator, the application server having a processor and memory containing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to provide a storyboard application to a user, the storyboard application including:

a storyboard creation user interface that is configured to allow a user to generate a user-customized display of the incident based on the plurality of media files; and

wherein the processor is configured to cause the storyboard application to change time information of one of the first and second media files based on time information of the other of the first and second media files and content of the other of the first and second media files; and

wherein the first device is selected from the group consisting of a cell phone camera; a dash camera; a body camera; a security camera; and a doorbell camera and wherein the incident has a defined location and time, and wherein the first and second devices are present at the defined location at the same time.

2 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 1 , and further comprising a user-interface element that, when selected, causes the storyboard application to receive a user comment that is associated with a particular media file.

3 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 2 , wherein the comment is associated with a particular time of the particular media file.

4 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 1 , and further comprising a user-interface element that, when selected, causes the storyboard application to synchronize time of a particular media file with time of a selected media file.

5 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 4 , and further comprising a user interface element that, when selected, provides a summary generation user interface to the user.

6 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 5 , and further comprising a user interface element that, when selected, provides a summary layout function to the user.

7 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 1 , wherein the processor and memory are cloud compute resources.

8 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to automatically transcribe audio of at least one of the first and second media files into associated text.

9 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 8 , wherein the associated text includes time information for each word of the associated text, the time information indicating a time in the media file when an utterance associated with the word occurred.

10 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 8 , wherein the processor is configured to provide a search functionality over all transcribed text associated with the incident.

11 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 10 , wherein a user-specified search term results in a listing of all media files associated with the incident that include the user-specified search term.

12 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 11 , wherein the search results include time information for each search result indicating a time of a particular utterance in a particular media file.

13 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 1 , wherein the content of the other of the first and second media file is a sound.

14 . The automatic incident compilation system of claim 13 , wherein the sound is an utterance.
