Claims (27)

1 . A renovation mat comprising:

a non-woven web of fibers;

a first binder, which holds together the non-woven web of fibers before impregnation;

a filler; and

a second binder, used with the filler to impregnate the non-woven web of fibers;

wherein the solids in the filler consist of aluminum trihydrate and, titanium dioxide, and is present in an amount of 100 g/m 2 to 500 g/m 2 ;

wherein the filler comprises aluminum trihydrate in an amount of at least about 50% by weight of the solids in the filler;

wherein the web of fibers and the first binder have an area weight of 70 g/m 2 to 200 g/m 2 prior to inclusion of the filler; and

wherein the renovation mat has: an air porosity of at least 100/lm 2 /sec at 100 Pa according to ISO9237; and a ΔE≤2.

2 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein the web of fibers comprises fibers made from at least one of polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, aramid, nylon, rayon, viscose, polyimide, polyetherimide, polyamide, carbon fiber, cotton, hemp, kenaf, jute, cellulose, glass, and basalt.

3 . The renovation mat of claim 2 , wherein the fibers are glass fibers.

4 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein the mat has a ΔE≤1.

5 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein the filler is present in an amount of 150 g/m 2 to 310 g/m 2 .

6 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first binder and the second binder is selected from a latex binder, an acrylic binder, a polyvinyl alcohol binder, a vinyl ester binder, an epoxy binder and combinations thereof.

7 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first binder and the second binder comprises polyvinyl alcohol.

8 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , wherein the mat has a thickness of 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm.

9 . The renovation mat of claim 1 , further comprising a finishing coating.

10 . A renovation mat comprising:

a non-woven web of fibers;

a first binder, which holds together the non-woven web of fibers before impregnation;

a filler; and

a second binder, used with the filler to impregnate the non-woven web of fibers, wherein the second binder is a mixture of a latex binder and at least one additional binder selected from polyvinyl alcohol, acrylics, acrylic acids, epoxy, polyurethanes, melamine, urea formaldehyde, polyester resins, vinyl esters, starches, cellulose, saccharides, and combinations thereof;

wherein the filler comprises a mixture of aluminum trihydrate and kaolin and is present in an amount of 100 g/m 2 to 500 g/m 2 ; wherein the filler comprises aluminum trihydrate in an amount of at least 30% by weight of the solids in the filler;

wherein the web of fibers and the first binder have an area weight of 70 g/m 2 to 200 g/m 2 prior to inclusion of the filler;

and wherein the renovation mat has:

an air porosity of at least 100/lm 2 /sec at 100 Pa according to ISO9237; and

a ΔE≤1.
