Abstract

The invention relates to novel CD4-independent HIV Envelope proteins and uses therefor.

Claims (6)

1. An isolated polypeptide comprising an HIV-1/IIIBx 8x Env, said isolated polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:3.

2. A cell comprising the isolated polypeptide of claim 1 .

3. The cell of claim 2 , wherein said cell is a prokaryotic cell.

4. The cell of claim 2 , wherein said cell is a eukaryotic cell.

5. The cell of claim 4 , wherein said eukaryotic cell is selected from the group consisting of a fungal cell, an insect cell, and a mammalian cell.

6. A composition comprising the isolated polypeptide of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
