Abstract

The present invention relates to a G-protein coupled receptor and a novel ligand therefor. The invention provides screeing assays for the identification of candidate compounds which modulate the activity of the G-protein coupled receptor, as well as assays useful for the diagnosis and treatment of a disease or disorder related to the dysregulation of G-protein coupled receptor signaling.

Claims (6)

1. An isolated antibody produced by the Chemr23 5C 4C7 hybridoma deposited in the European Collection of Cell Cultures, deposit number 04061601.

2. An isolated antibody produced by the Chemr23 5C 1H2 hybridoma deposited in the European Collection of Cell Cultures, deposit number 04061602.

3. An isolated monoclonal antibody, or an antigen binding portion thereof, which binds an epitope on the polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein said epitope is recognized by the antibody of claim 1 or 2 , said antibody or antigen binding portion thereof comprising human framework regions.

4. The isolated antibody of claim 3 , wherein said antibody modulates the activity of said polypeptide.

5. An isolated antibody comprising each of the CDRs of the antibody of claim 1 or 2 , wherein said antibody specifically binds a ChemerinR polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.

6. An isolated human monoclonal antibody, or an antigen binding portion thereof, which binds an epitope on the polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein said human monoclonal antibody competes for binding with the antibody of claim 1 or 2 .
