Device for receiving ceramic heating elements and method for the manufacture thereof
View Patent ↗A device and a method for receiving ceramic heating elements (PTC elements, cold conductors) in a heating device use an insulating frame and at least one contact plate held by the latter and on which the heating elements can be placed. The contact plate is frictionally held in the frame. According to the method, at least on the contact plate side remote from the heating element reception side is molded on or sprayed a layer of the following materials: plastic, polymer ceramic, ceramic.
1. Method for the manufacture of a device for receiving ceramic heating elements in a heating device, comprising:
providing a contact plate for receiving ceramic heating elements, and
applying a frame frictionally receiving the contact plate to the contact plate by injection-moulding the frame around or spraying the frame on or around the contact plate, the frame serving as a holding element for the ceramic heating elements.
2. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the contact plate has a reception side for the heating elements, and wherein injection-moulding the frame around or spraying the frame on or around the contact plate includes
spraying or molding a coating of an insulating material selected from the group consisting of plastic, polymer ceramic, and ceramic on at least a side of the contact plate remote from the reception side.
3. Method according to claim 2 , further comprising pressing projections out of a plane of the contact plate plane towards the reception side prior to spraying or molding the layer of the insulating material on at least the side of the contact plate remote from the reception side.
4. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the frame is made from a material selected from the group consisting of plastic, polymer ceramic, and ceramic.
5. Method according to claim 4 , wherein the step of applying the frame frictionally receiving the contact plate to the contact plate comprises spraying ceramic material on the contact plate by an atmospheric plasma spraying process.
6. Method according to claim 2 , wherein the step of applying the frame frictionally receiving the contact plate to the contact plate comprises molding plastic ceramic or spraying polymer ceramic on one side of the contact plate injection-moulding plastic or polymer ceramic at other portions of the contact plate.
7. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the contact plate is frictionally held in the frame so that the contact plate cannot be drawn out of the frame without damaging the frame.
8. Method according to claim 1 , wherein, over most of its length, the contact plate is held in grooves of the frame formed in longitudinal struts.
9. Method according to claim 1 wherein, at least in a limited longitudinal portion of the frame, the contact plate is completely and tightly surrounded by the frame.
10. Method according to claim 2 , wherein the contact plate is positively connected to the frame.
11. Method according to claim 1 , wherein on one side of the contact plate, the frame has crossbars between which the ceramic heating elements can be inserted.
12. Method according to claim 8 , wherein the longitudinal struts surround recesses for receiving the heating elements and the frame includes crossbars constructed as inwardly directed studs for the positive retention of the heating elements.
13. Method according to claim 1 , wherein bulges, projecting over a narrow side of the frame, are constructed on the frame to provide a non-positive connection of the frame in a profile tube.
14. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the contact plate projects over the frame at least on one front side.
15. Method according to claim 14 , wherein an end or ends of the contact plate projecting over the frame are constructed as terminal lugs.
16. Method according to claim 1 , wherein on a side of the contact plate remote from a reception side for the heating elements, the frame is completely closed and consequently the contact plate is provided with a covering completely covering the side of the contact plate remote from the reception side for the heating elements.
17. Method according to claim 1 , wherein on a side of the contact plate remote from a reception side for the heating elements, the contact plate is covered by a polymer ceramic or ceramic cover layer, whilst the rest of the frame is made from plastic or polymer ceramic.
18. Method according to claim 1 , wherein the contact plate has a planar shape.
19. Method for the manufacture of a device for receiving ceramic heating elements in a heating device, comprising:
providing a contact plate having a reception side for receiving ceramic heating elements;
spraying or molding a coating of an insulating material selected from the group consisting of plastic, polymer ceramic, and ceramic on at least a side of the contact plate remote from the reception side; and
injection-moulding a frame around the contact plate and the coating of the insulating material so that the contact plate and the coating of the insulating material are frictionally held in the frame so that the contact plate and the coating of the insulating material cannot be drawn out of the frame without damaging the frame, the frame serving as a holding element for the ceramic heating elements.
20. Method according to claim 19 , wherein, over most of its length, the contact plate is held in grooves of the frame formed in longitudinal struts.
21. Method according to claim 19 , wherein the frame is made from a material selected from the group consisting of plastic and polymer ceramic.
