Methods for detecting expression of human protease molecules
The invention provides human protease molecules (HUPM) and polynucleotides which identify and encode HUPM. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, antibodies, agonists, and antagonists. The invention also provides methods for treating or preventing disorders associated with expression of HUPM.
1. A method comprising: quantitating expression of a human protease molecule (HUPM) in a cell, tissue, or biological fluid by measuring binding of an antibody to the cell, tissue, or biological fluid, wherein the antibody specifically binds to
(a) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6; or
(b) a polypeptide comprising a naturally occurring amino acid sequence at least 95% identical to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:6 and having the activity of a serine protease, and wherein the binding of the antibody indicates the presence and amount of the HUPM in the cell, tissue, or biological fluid.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is detectably labeled.
3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the detectable label is a radionuclide, an enzyme, a fluorescent agent, a chemoluminescent agent, a chromogenic agent, a magnetic particle, or mixtures thereof.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the biological fluid is serum.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the biological fluid is a cell or tissue extract.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell, tissue, or biological fluid is from a biopsy.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell is a cancer cell.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the tissue comprises a cancer cell.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cell, tissue, or biological fluid is from adrenal gland, bladder, bone, bone marrow, brain, breast, cervix, gall bladder, ganglia, gastrointestinal tract, heart, kidney, liver, lung, muscle, ovary, pancreas, parathyroid, penis, prostate, salivary gland, skin, spleen, testis, thymus, thyroid, or uterus.
10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the cell is a cancer cell.
11. The method of claim 9 , where the tissue comprises a cancer cell.
