Abstract

A rotary vacuum pump includes a suction chamber ( 12 ) in a housing ( 10 ). A rotor ( 14 ) is eccentrically mounted in the suction chamber ( 12 ). Sliding vanes ( 18 ) are connected to the rotor ( 14 ). Further, a discharge channel ( 30 ) is connected to the suction chamber ( 12 ) and to an oil chamber ( 32 ). A valve ( 38 ) is disposed between the discharge channel ( 30 ) and the oil chamber ( 32 ) in order to prevent the medium from flowing back from the oil chamber ( 32 ) into the suction chamber ( 12 ). At least one compensating channel ( 50 ) is connected to the discharge channel ( 30 ) and to the oil chamber ( 32 ).

Claims (26)

1. A rotary vacuum pump comprising:

a housing including a suction chamber,

a rotor eccentrically mounted in the suction chamber,

sliding vanes connected to the rotor for displacement therein,

a discharge channel connected to the suction chamber through the housing to an oil chamber,

a valve arranged between the oil chamber and the discharge channel to prevent a backflow of medium from the oil chamber into the suction chamber, and

a compensating channel defined in the housing, the compensating channel being connected to the discharge channel and a zone at atmospheric pressure, wherein an upper end of the compensating channel is connected to an air zone of the oil chamber and a lower end of the compensating channel is connected with the discharge channel and further including a structure which covers a portion of the compensating channel between the upper and lower end such that the compensating channel has fluid contact with oil in the oil chamber.

2. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein a portion of the compensating channel is covered by a portion of the valve.

3. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein the valve includes an elastically deformable valve tongue that covers a portion of the compensating channel between the discharge channel and the zone at atmospheric pressure.

4. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein the compensating channel is arranged in such a manner that, after completion of the discharge of medium from the suction chamber, the compensation channel comprises an oil supply for the subsequent compression of medium in the suction chamber.

5. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein the compensating channel includes a plurality of grooves.

6. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein the valve is at least partially immersed in an oil bath.

7. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 1 , wherein the compensating channel is formed in a flange of the housing.

8. A rotary vacuum pump comprising:

a housing including a suction chamber,

a rotor eccentrically mounted in the suction chamber,

sliding vanes connected to the rotor for displacement therein,

a discharge channel connected to the suction chamber through the housing to an oil chamber,

a valve arranged between the oil chamber and the discharge channel to prevent a backflow of medium from the oil chamber into the suction chamber, and

a compensating channel defined in the housing, the compensating channel being connected to the discharge channel and a zone at atmospheric pressure, wherein a lower end of the compensating channel is connected to the discharge channel at a discharge end of the discharge channel adjacent the valve and below a level of oil in the oil chamber such that oil blocks air from flowing through the compensating channel during normal operation and permits air to be drawn through the compensating channel when the pump stops.

9. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein a portion of the compensating channel is covered by a portion of the valve.

10. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein the valve includes an elastically deformable valve tongue that covers a portion of the compensating channel between the discharge channel and the zone at atmospheric pressure.

11. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein the compensating channel is arranged in such a manner that, after completion of the discharge of medium from the suction chamber, the compensation channel comprises an oil supply for the subsequent compression of medium in the suction chamber.

12. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein the compensating channel includes a plurality of grooves.

13. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein the valve is at least partially immersed in an oil bath.

14. The rotary vacuum pump according to claim 8 , wherein the compensating channel is formed in a flange of the housing.
