Abstract

Methods, systems, and products verify identity of a person identification verification. A signature, representing the presence of a device, is acquired. The signature is compared to a reference signature. When the signature favorably compares to the reference signature, then the identity of a user associated with the device is verified.

Claims (46)

1. A method of verifying an identity of a person, comprising:

receiving a request to verify the identify of the person carrying a device;

receiving a location associated with the device;

retrieving a rule associated with the location;

receiving a signature associated with the device;

determining the signature is a stale signature;

querying for an historical signature previously received from the device at the location;

receiving a strictness of comparison between the stale signature and the historical signature;

comparing the stale signature to the historical signature according to the strictness of comparison; and

verifying the identity of the person carrying the device in response to the stale signature matching the historical signature.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising receiving the rule with the signature.

3. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising receiving multiple signatures from the device.

4. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising declining to verify the identity of the person.

5. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising declining to verify the identity of the person in response to the stale signature failing to match the historical signature.

6. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising retrieving the rule associated with the location and with a time.

7. A system for verifying an identity of a person, comprising:

a processor; and

memory storing that when executed causes the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving a request to verify the identify of the person carrying a device;

receiving a location associated with the device;

retrieving a rule associated with the location;

receiving a signature associated with the device;

determining the signature is a stale signature;

retrieving an historical signature previously received from the device at the location;

receiving a strictness of comparison between the stale signature and the historical signature;

comparing the stale signature to the historical signature according to the strictness of comparison; and

verifying the identity of the person carrying the device in response to the stale signature matching the historical signature.

8. The system according to claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving the rule with the signature.

9. The system according to claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving multiple signatures from the device.

10. The system according to claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise declining to verify the identity of the person.

11. The system according to claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise declining to verify the identity of the person in response to the stale signature failing to match the historical signature.

12. The system according to claim 7 , wherein the operations further comprise retrieving the rule associated with the location and with a time.

13. A memory storing instructions that when executed cause a processor to perform operations for verifying an identity of a person, the operations comprising:

receiving a request to verify the identify of the person carrying a device, the request comprising an identity strictness when verifying the identity of the person;

receiving a location associated with the device;

retrieving a rule associated with the location;

receiving a signature associated with the device;

determining the signature is a stale signature;

retrieving an historical signature previously received from the device at the location;

comparing the stale signature to the historical signature according to the identity strictness; and

verifying the identity of the person carrying the device in response to the stale signature matching the historical signature.

14. The memory according to claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving the rule with the signature.

15. The memory according to claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise applying the strictness when comparing the stale signature and the historical signature.

16. The memory according to claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise receiving multiple signatures from the device.

17. The memory according to claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise declining to verify the identity of the person.

18. The memory according to claim 13 , wherein the operations further comprise declining to verify the identity of the person in response to the stale signature failing to match the historical signature.
