8-hydroxy quinoline derivatives
The present invention describes a method for the treatment of a neurological condition in a subject which comprises administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effect amount of a compound of the formula or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrates, or solvates thereof.
1. A method for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in a subject which comprises administering to the subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2. The method of claim 1 , in which the compound is administered in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
3. The method of claim 1 , in which the compound is administered in association with a medicament, said medicament being an inhibitor of the acetyl cholinesterase active site, an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory agent or an oestrogenic agent.
4. The method of claim 1 , in which the compound is in hydrate form.
