Spacer textile materials and methods for manufacturing the spacer textile materials
A spacer textile material may include a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of connecting members extending between and joining the first layer and the second layer. The connecting members may form a series of at least ten rows that are separated by spaces. The rows have a width that is less than a width of the spaces, and the connecting members form at least one stabilizing row with a width that is greater than the width of the spaces.
1. A spacer textile material comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of connecting members extending between and joining the first layer and the second layer, the connecting members forming a series of at least ten rows that are separated by spaces, the rows having a width that is less than a width of the spaces, and the connecting members forming at least one stabilizing row with a width that is greater than the width of the spaces.
2. The spacer textile material recited in claim 1 , wherein the spacer textile material is a knitted textile and the first layer, the second layer, and the connecting members are formed from at least one yarn.
3. The spacer textile material recited in claim 1 , wherein the connecting members are sections of at least one yarn.
4. The spacer textile material recited in claim 1 , wherein the series of at least ten rows are (a) substantially parallel to each other and (b) distributed at substantially equal distances across the spacer textile material.
5. The spacer textile material recited in claim 1 , wherein the first layer and the second layer define a first edge and an opposite second edge of the spacer textile material, and the at least one stabilizing row includes a first stabilizing row and a second stabilizing row, the first stabilizing row being located adjacent to the first edge, and the second stabilizing row being located adjacent to the second edge.
6. The spacer textile material recited in claim 5 , wherein the series of at least ten rows is located between the first stabilizing row and the second stabilizing row.
7. The spacer textile material recited in claim 5 , wherein the at least one stabilizing row also includes a third stabilizing row located in a central area of the spacer textile material and between the first edge and the second edge.
8. The spacer textile material recited in claim 7 , wherein the series of at least ten rows is located between the first stabilizing row and the third stabilizing row, and another series of at least ten rows is located between the second stabilizing row and the third stabilizing row.
9. The spacer textile material recited in claim 1 , wherein the first layer is stitched to the second layer at the at least one stabilizing row.
10. A spacer textile material comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of connecting members formed from yarn sections, the connecting members extending between and joining the first layer and the second layer, and the connecting members forming a series of rows that are separated by spaces, each of the rows having a width formed by less than five of the yarn sections, and the connecting members forming a stabilizing row with a width formed by at least five of the yarn sections.
11. The spacer textile material recited in claim 10 , wherein the series of rows are (a) substantially parallel to each other and (b) distributed at substantially equal distances across the spacer textile material.
12. The spacer textile material recited in claim 10 , wherein the width of each of the rows is formed by one of the yarn sections.
13. The spacer textile material recited in claim 10 , wherein the first layer is stitched to the second layer at the stabilizing row.
14. A spacer textile material comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of connecting members extending between and joining the first layer and the second layer, the connecting members forming a plurality of substantially parallel rows separated by spaces, the rows including a first row, at least ten second rows, and a third row, the ten second rows being located between the first row and the third row, a width of the first row being at least five times a width of each of the ten second rows, and a width of the third row being at least five times the width of each of the ten second rows.
15. The spacer textile material recited in claim 14 , wherein the spacer textile material is a knitted textile and the first layer, the second layer, and the connecting members are formed from at least one yarn.
16. The spacer textile material recited in claim 14 , wherein the width of the first row is at least ten times the width of each of the ten second rows.
17. The spacer textile material recited in claim 14 , wherein the first row and the third row are separated by a distance of at least ten centimeters.
18. The spacer textile material recited in claim 14 , wherein the first row and the third row are separated by a distance of at least thirty centimeters.
19. The spacer textile material recited in claim 14 , wherein the first layer and the second layer define a first edge and an opposite second edge of the spacer textile material, the first row being located adjacent to the first edge, and the third row being located adjacent to the second edge.
20. A spacer textile material comprising a first layer, a second layer, and a plurality of connecting members extending between and joining the first layer and the second layer, the first layer and the second layer defining a first edge and an opposite second edge of the spacer textile material, and the connecting members forming at least thirty substantially parallel rows separated by spaces where the connecting members are absent, the rows including (a) a first row located adjacent to the first edge, (b) a second row located adjacent to the second edge, and (c) a third row that is located in a central area of the spacer textile material and between the first edge and the second edge, widths of the first row, the second row, and the third row being at least five times widths of the rows that are located between (a) the first row and the third row and (b) the second row and the third row.
21. The spacer textile material recited in claim 20 , wherein the spacer textile material is a knitted textile and the first layer, the second layer, and the connecting members are formed from at least one yarn.
22. The spacer textile material recited in claim 20 , wherein the connecting members are sections of at least one yarn.
23. The spacer textile material recited in claim 20 , wherein the first row and the third row are separated by a distance of at least ten centimeters.
24. The spacer textile material recited in claim 20 , wherein the first row and the third row are separated by a distance of at least thirty centimeters.
25. The spacer textile material recited in claim 20 , wherein the widths of the first row, the second row, and the third row are at least ten times the widths of the rows that are located between (a) the first row and the third row and (b) the second row and the third row.
