Abstract

A projector apparatus that may include a first plurality of adjacent translucent lenses on at least one side of an inner lens, said inner lens configured to rotate and translate about an axis (A) of the inner lens; a second plurality of adjacent translucent lenses formed on at least one side of a concave outer lens; a light source configured to direct a portion of light through the rotatable and translatable inner lens and then through the concave outer lens; and a motor configured to rotatably and translatably drive the inner lens in an oscillating manner about and along the axis of the concave inner lens (A); so that the oscillating inner lens imparts a moving textured image for modification through the fixed concave outer lens for display upon a surface, such as a ceiling to simulate a moving liquid surface.

Claims (31)

1. A projector apparatus, comprising:

a moveable inner patterned lens;

a fixed outer patterned lens; and

a light source positioned in complementary opposition to the moveable inner patterned lens such that when the light source is on a portion of light from the light source is directed through the moveable inner patterned lens and the fixed outer patterned lens, when the moveable inner patterned lens is moving.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the light source comprises a plurality of colored light-emitting diodes (LEDs).

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the moveable inner patterned lens is concave.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the fixed outer patterned lens is concave.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the fixed outer patterned lens has a smooth outer surface.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the fixed outer patterned lens comprises a colored translucent plastic.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the fixed outer patterned lens comprises a glass.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the moveable inner patterned lens comprises one or more pins to enable movement of the moveable inner patterned lens.

9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the one or more pins comprise a front pin and a rear pin, and wherein the front pin and the rear pin extend from opposing ends of the inner lens.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the light source is fixed.

11. A projector apparatus, comprising:

a moveable inner patterned lens;

an outer patterned lens; and

a light source positioned in complementary opposition to the moveable inner patterned lens such that when the light source is on a portion of light from the light source is directed through the moveable inner patterned lens and the outer patterned lens, when the moveable inner patterned lens is moving.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , further comprising a tray, wherein the moveable inner patterned lens and light source are coupled to a first side of the tray.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , further comprising a speaker, wherein the speaker is coupled to a second side of the tray.

14. The apparatus of claim 12 , further comprising a motor, wherein the motor is coupled to a second side of the tray.

15. A method of projecting a simulated moving liquid surface, comprising:

moving a moveable inner patterned lens;

projecting, by a light source, a portion of light through the moveable inner patterned lens; and

projecting a portion of the light projected through the moveable inner patterned lens through a fixed outer patterned lens.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the portion of the light projected through the moveable inner patterned lens and through fixed outer patterned lens imparts a moving textured image for display upon a surface.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein the moving textured image simulates a moving liquid surface.

18. The method of claim 15 wherein the moveable inner patterned lens is moved by a motor.

19. The method of claim 15 further comprising:

providing, via a speaker, sounds of liquid movement.

20. The method of claim 15 further comprising:

filtering, by a filter disposed on the fixed outer patterned lens, a portion of light from said light source that did not go through said moveable inner patterned lens.
