Abstract

A digital-to-analog converter including a resistor string configured to provide a plurality of gradation voltages formed by receiving a top voltage at one end thereof and a bottom voltage at the other end; a plurality of pass transistors including a pass transistor having one end which is electrically connected to the resistor string and outputting any one among the plurality of gradation voltages; and a decoder configured to control the plurality of pass transistors. The plurality of the pass transistors are included in any one among a plurality of groups according to values of the gradation voltages, and the pass transistors included in the any one group are divided into a first group and a second group according to output gradation voltages, and pass transistors included in the first group and pass transistors included in the second group are different types of pass transistors.

Claims (35)

1. A digital-to-analog converter, comprising:

a resistor string configured to provide a plurality of gradation voltages formed by receiving a top voltage at one end thereof and a bottom voltage at the other end;

a plurality of pass transistors including a pass transistor having one end which is electrically connected to the resistor string and outputting any one among the plurality of gradation voltages; and

a decoder configured to control the plurality of pass transistors,

wherein the plurality of the pass transistors are included in any one among a plurality of groups according to values of the gradation voltages, the pass transistors included in the any one group are divided into a first group and a second group according to output gradation voltages, and pass transistors included in the first group and pass transistors included in the second group are different types of pass transistors,

wherein the first group includes NMOS pass transistors, the second group includes PMOS pass transistors, and the first group and the second group are arranged in the same deep well, and

wherein the decoder controls the pass transistors arranged in the first group and the second group using a control signal having the same swing.

2. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein the deep well includes a P well and an N well, the pass transistors included in the first group are arranged in the P well, and the pass transistors included in the second group are arranged in the N well.

3. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 2 , wherein sizes of the NMOS pass transistors arranged in the same P well are the same, and sizes of the PMOS pass transistors arranged in the same N well are the same.

The digital-to-analog converter of claim 2 , wherein a well bias voltage provided to the N well is a maximum voltage among the gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the deep well, and a well bias voltage provided to the P well is a minimum voltage among the gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the deep well.

5. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 4 , wherein the decoder controls the pass transistors arranged in the deep well using a control signal that swings between the well bias voltage provided to the N well and the well bias voltage provided to the P well.

6. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein voltage differences between the plurality of gradation voltages are different.

7. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein voltage differences between the plurality of gradation voltages are the same.

8. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein the number of pass transistors included in each of the plurality of groups are different.

9. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein the number of pass transistors included in each of the plurality of groups are the same.

10. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the second group are greater than gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the first group.

11. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein the top voltage and the bottom voltage respectively correspond to an upper limit voltage and a lower limit voltage of a gamma voltage.

The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein an upper limit voltage is a voltage in which an upper headroom voltage is added to an upper limit value of a gamma voltage, and a lower limit voltage is a voltage in which a lower headroom voltage is subtracted from a lower limit value of the gamma voltage.

13. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of groups include a group having pass transistors having the same type.

14. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 13 , wherein the group having the pass transistors having the same type includes pass transistors that are PMOS transistors and provide the greatest gradation voltage.

15. The digital-to-analog converter of claim 13 , wherein the group having the pass transistors having the same type includes pass transistors that are NMOS pass transistors and provide the smallest gradation voltage.

16. A digital-to-analog converter, comprising:

a resistor string configured to provide a plurality of gradation voltages formed by receiving a top voltage at one end thereof and a bottom voltage at the other end;

a plurality of pass transistors including a pass transistor having one end which is electrically connected to the resistor string and outputting any one among the plurality of gradation voltages; and

a decoder configured to control the plurality of pass transistors,

wherein the plurality of the pass transistors are included in any one among a plurality of groups according to values of the gradation voltages, the pass transistors included in the any one group are divided into a first group and a second group according to output gradation voltages, and pass transistors included in the first group and pass transistors included in the second group are different types of pass transistors,

wherein the first group includes NMOS pass transistors, the second group includes PMOS pass transistors, and the first group and the second group are arranged in the same deep well,

wherein the deep well includes a P well and an N well, the pass transistors included in the first group are arranged in the P well, and the pass transistors included in the second group are arranged in the N well, and

wherein a well bias voltage provided to the N well is a maximum voltage among the gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the deep well, and a well bias voltage provided to the P well is a minimum voltage among the gradation voltages output from the pass transistors included in the deep well.

17. A digital-to-analog converter, comprising:

a resistor string configured to provide a plurality of gradation voltages formed by receiving a top voltage at one end thereof and a bottom voltage at the other end;

a plurality of pass transistors including a pass transistor having one end which is electrically connected to the resistor string and outputting any one among the plurality of gradation voltages; and

a decoder configured to control the plurality of pass transistors,

wherein the plurality of the pass transistors are included in any one among a plurality of groups according to values of the gradation voltages, the pass transistors included in the any one group are divided into a first group and a second group according to output gradation voltages, and pass transistors included in the first group and pass transistors included in the second group are different types of pass transistors, and

wherein an upper limit voltage is a voltage in which an upper headroom voltage is added to an upper limit value of a gamma voltage, and a lower limit voltage is a voltage in which a lower headroom voltage is subtracted from a lower limit value of the gamma voltage.
