Abstract

An acquisition processing section acquires information data addressed to a user and a notification processing section gives notification of the acquired information addressed to the user. When a plurality of users have logged in concurrently, the notification processing section gives notification of user identification information identifying the addressee of the information, along with the information. On the other hand, when only one user has logged in, the notification processing section gives notification of the information but does not give notification of the user identification information. A login managing unit manages login users. The notification processing section determines whether or not to give notification of the user identification information depending on whether one user or a plurality of users are managed by the login managing unit.

Claims (24)

1. An information processing apparatus comprising:

an acquisition processing section configured to acquire information addressed to a user;

a notification processing section configured to give notification of the information; and

an information storing section configured to store the information by associating a type identifier of the information with an existence status of a need to determine a number, such that when the type identifier identifies a first type of information the type identifier is associated with a first status in which the need does not exist, and when the type identifier identifies a second type of information the type identifier is associated with a second status in which the need exists; wherein

the notification processing section first references the type identifier then determines whether to give a notification of user identification information identifying an addressee of the information, along with the information;

when the referenced type identifier is associated with the first status, the notification processing section does not give the notification along with the information;

when the referenced type identifier is associated with the second status, the notification processing section first determines the number then gives the notification along with the information when the number is greater than one; and

the number is how many users are logged in concurrently.

2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein, when only one user has logged in, the notification processing section gives notification of the information but does not give notification of the user identification information.

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a login managing unit configured to manage login users; wherein the notification processing section determines whether or not to give notification of the user identification information depending on whether one user or a plurality of users are managed by the login managing unit.

4. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein

the acquisition processing section acquires an invitation message giving an invitation to an application executed by another information processing apparatus; and

the notification processing section gives notification of information identifying the application, along with the invitation message.

5. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a screen generating unit configured to generate an invitation screen for inviting the user identified by the user identification information to an application session if the user operates an input device while notification of the information addressed to the user is being given, the screen generating unit further generating a screen dedicated to a user different from the user identified by the user identification information if the different user operates the input device while notification of the information addressed to the other user is being given.

6. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein upon receipt of information indicating the presence of information addressed to the user of the information processing apparatus from a server connected with a network, the acquisition processing block acquires the information addressed to the user from another server connected with the network.

7. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the notification processing section displays information addressed to the user in a pop-up window.

8. A non-transitory, computer readable storage medium containing a program for a computer, which when executed by a computer, causes the computer to carry out actions, comprising:

acquiring information addressed to a user;

giving notification of the information; and

storing the information by associating a type identifier of the information with an existence status of a need to determine a number, such that when the type identifier identifies a first type of information the type identifier is associated with a first status in which the need does not exist, and when the type identifier identifies a second type of information the type identifier is associated with a second status in which the need exists; wherein

the notification first references the type identifier then determines whether to give a notification of user identification information identifying an addressee of the information, along with the information;

when the referenced type identifier is associated with the first status, the notification is not give along with the information;

when the referenced type identifier is associated with the second status, the notification first determines the number then gives the notification along with the information when the number is greater than one; and

the number is how many users are logged in concurrently.
