Abstract

Included are systems and methods for capturing screen data. At least one embodiment of a method includes receiving an indication of a communications session, wherein the communication session is associated with screen data and determining screen data to capture. Some embodiments include capturing data related to the screen data and uploading the captured data to a remote location.

Claims (18)

1. A method for capturing screen data, comprising:

receiving an indication of a communication session, wherein the indication is provided in response to an action received by a communications device associated with the communication session, wherein the communication session is associated with screen data displayed by the communications device;

determining data to capture in accordance with an application focus provided by the communications device and whether the data includes sensitive information;

in response to determining data to capture, capturing at least a portion of the data to a local recording cache on the communications device in an uncompressed format;

determining if the portion of the data captured to the local recording cache contains video data;

compressing, after capturing to the local recording cache, the portion of the data that includes data other than video data; and

uploading the portion of the data to a remote location.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

modifying the sensitive information to a modified state; and

uploading the sensitive information in the modified state to the remote location.

3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising uploading the sensitive information in the modified state and unmodified captured data to the remote location.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein modifying the sensitive information to a modified state comprises encrypting the sensitive information.

5. The method of claim 2 , wherein modifying the sensitive information to a modified state comprises blocking the sensitive information.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising capturing a file associated with the screen data.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising sending an upload request prior to uploading the captured data.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising buffering at least a portion of the captured data in a rolling buffer.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one aspect of the portion of the data comprises a media type of the data.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the media type is one of text and video.
