Abstract

A conductive connector includes a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end. A conductive transmission path extends between the probing end and the head connection end. A pogo-rotational-action pin is electrically connected to the transmission path at the head connection end of the flexible-deflectable extension.

Claims (59)

1. A conductive connector comprising:

(a) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end, said flexible-deflectable extension being flexibly-deflectably adjustable;

(b) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end;

(c) a pogo-rotational-action pin having an inner member, an outer member, and a spring, said inner member being slideable and rotatable within said outer member, and said spring providing an outward force tending to push said inner member outward, said pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension; and

(d) said pogo-rotational-action pin facilitating both longitudinal motion (LM) and rotational movement (RM) between said flexible-deflectable extension and a probing head.

2. The conductive connector of claim 1 , said flexible deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having at least a portion of said transmission path exposed thereon, said back surface being electrically insulated.

3. A conductive connector comprising:

(a) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end;

(b) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end;

(c) a pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension

(d) said flexible-deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having an electrical path that allows electrical access to said transmission path, said back surface being electrically insulated.

The conductive connector of claim 1 , wherein said flexible-deflectable extension has a first shape, said flexible-deflectable extension changing shape to a second shape upon the application of force, said flexible-deflectable extension substantially maintaining said second shape as long as said force is applied consistently, and said flexible-deflectable extension substantially returning to said first shape upon removal of said force.

5. The conductive connector of claim 1 , wherein said pogo-rotational-action pin allows rotational movement (RM) between said flexible-deflectable extension and said probing head in a 360° circle with a longitudinal axis of said pogo-rotational-action pin being the center of said circle.

6. The conductive connector of claim 1 , said flexible-deflectable extension further comprising a support layer and a covering layer, said transmission path positioned between said support layer and said covering layer.

7. The conductive connector of claim 1 , further comprising solder, said solder associated with said transmission path at said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension.

8. A conductive connector comprising:

(a) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end, said flexible-deflectable extension being flexibly-deflectably adjustable;

(b) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end;

(c) a pogo-rotational-action pin having an inner member, an outer member, and a spring said inner member being slideable and rotatable within said outer member, and said spring providing an outward force tending to Dush said inner member outward said pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension; and

(d) said second end of said pogo-rotational-action pin interconnectable with a connection mechanism of a probing head of an electrical test probe.

9. A conductive connector comprising:

(a) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end, said flexible-deflectable extension being flexibly-deflectably adjustable;

(b) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end;

(c) a pogo-rotational-action pin having an inner member, an outer member, and a spring, said pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension; and

(d) said pogo-rotational-action pin providing both longitudinal motion (LM) and rotational movement (RM) between said flexible-deflectable extension and a probing head.

10. The conductive connector of claim 9 , said flexible-deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having at least a portion of said transmission path exposed thereon, said back surface being electrically insulated.

11. The conductive connector of claim 9 , said flexible-deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having an electrical path that allows electrical access to said transmission path, said back surface being electrically insulated.

12. The conductive connector of claim 9 , wherein said flexible-deflectable extension has a first shape, said flexible-deflectable extension changing shape to a second shape upon the application of force, said flexible-deflectable extension substantially maintaining said second shape as long as said force is applied consistently, and said flexible-deflectable extension substantially returning to said first shape upon removal of said force.

13. The conductive connector of claim 9 , said flexible-deflectable extension further comprising a support layer and a covering layer, said transmission path positioned between said support layer and said covering layer.

14. The conductive connector of claim 9 , further comprising solder, said solder associated with said transmission path at said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension.

15. The conductive connector of claim 9 , wherein said second end of said pogo-rotational-action pin is interconnectable with a connection mechanism of a probing head of an electrical test probe.

16. A conductive connector comprising:

(a) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end;

(b) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end;

(c) said flexible-deflectable extension further comprising a support layer and a covering layer, said transmission path positioned between said support layer and said covering layer; and

(d) a pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension.

17. The conductive connector of claim 16 , wherein said flexible-deflectable extension is flexibly-deflectably adjustable.

18. The conductive connector of claim 16 , said flexible-deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having at least a portion of said transmission path exposed thereon, said back surface being electrically insulated.

19. The conductive connector of claim 16 , said flexible-deflectable extension having a front surface and a back surface, said front surface having an electrical path that allows electrical access to said transmission path, said back surface being electrically insulated.

The conductive connector of claim 16 , wherein said flexible-deflectable extension has a first shape, said flexible-deflectable extension changing shape to a second shape upon the application of force, said flexible-deflectable extension substantially maintaining said second shape as long as said force is applied consistently, and said flexible-deflectable extension substantially returning to said first shape upon removal of said force.

21. The conductive connector of claim 16 , wherein said pogo-rotational-action pin provides both longitudinal motion (LM) and rotational movement (RM) between said flexible-deflectable extension and a probing head.

22. The conductive connector of claim 16 , further comprising solder, said solder associated with said transmission path at said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension.

23. A method for using a conductive connector, said method comprising the steps of:

(a) providing a conductive connector, said conductive connector comprising:

(i) a flexible-deflectable extension having a probing end and a head connection end, said flexible-deflectable extension being flexibly-deflectably adjustable;

(ii) a conductive transmission path extending between said probing end and said head connection end; and

(iii) a pogo-rotational-action pin having an inner member, an outer member, and a spring said inner member being slideable and rotatable within said outer member, and said spring providing, an outward force tending to push said inner member outward, said pogo-rotational-action pin having a first end and a second end, said first end electrically connected to said transmission path at said head connection end of said flexible-deflectable extension;

(b) positioning said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension so that it is in electrical contact with at least one probing point; and

(c) applying force to create motion of said flexible-deflectable extension:

(i) said step of applying force further comprising the step of applying rotational force so as to create rotational motion (RM) between said probing head and said flexible-deflectable extension; and

(ii) said step of applying force further comprising the step of applying longitudinal force so as to create longitudinal motion (LM) between said probing head and said flexible-deflectable extension.

24. The method of claim 23 , further comprising the step of electrically attaching said flexible-deflectable extension to at least one probing point by melting solder at said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension.

25. The method of claim 23 , further comprising the steps of:

(a) providing a probing head interconnectable with said conductive connector and a probing tip;

(b) positioning said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension so that it is in electrical contact with a first probing point of interest;

(c) positioning said probing tip so that it is in electrical contact with a second probing point of interest;

(d) removing said probing tip from said second probing point of interest;

(e) rotating said probing head in relation to said flexible-deflectable extension without disconnecting said probing end of said flexible-deflectable extension from said first probing point of interest; and

(f) positioning said probing tip so that it is in electrical contact with a third probing point of interest.
