Abstract

The present invention provides glycoside compounds, methods of preparing such compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and a method for the treatment of hyperproliferative diseases using the same.

Claims (20)

1. A compound of formula I:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester, conjugate, hydrate, solvate or salt thereof, wherein:

R is selected from the group consisting of

R a is CH 3 ;

R b is CH 3 , CH 2 OH, or CHO;

R c is H, OH, or CH 3 COO;

R d is H or OH;

R e is H or absent when R f is H, OH or a C═C exists between the atoms joined to R e , R f and R g ;

R f is H, OH, or absent when R e is H or a C═C exists between the atoms joined to R e , R f and R g ;

R g is H or when a C═C exists between the atoms joined to R e , R f and R g , R g is no group;

R h is H or OH;

X is O;

R′ is an alkyl or aryl group; and

Sugar is selected from the group consisting of

and their epimers and conformers.

2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 1 and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.

3. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 wherein the at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient is a cyclodextrin.

4. A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition of claim 2 .

5. A method for treating hyperproliferative disease in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of claim 1 .

6. The method of claim 4 wherein the cancer is selected from colorectal, non-small cell, lung, ovarian, breast, colon, CNS, liver, lung, and kidney cancers.
