Abstract

An electrically controlled spectacle includes a spectacle frame and optoelectronic lenses housed in the frame. The lenses include a left lens and a right lens, each of the optoelectrical lenses having a plurality of states, wherein the state of the left lens is independent of the state of the right lens. The electrically controlled spectacle also includes a control unit housed in the frame, the control unit being adapted to control the state of each of the lenses independently.

Claims (60)

1. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

expand the first image frame to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.

5. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

shrink the first image frame to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

6. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

7. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

8. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.

9. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

remove a portion of the first image frame to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

10. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

11. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

12. The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.

13. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

stitch together the first image frame with at least a portion of a second image frame that is different from the first image frame, to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

15. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

16. The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.

17. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

insert a selected image into the first image frame to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

18. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

19. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

20. The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.

21. An apparatus comprising:

a storage adapted to store one or more image frames; and

a processor adapted to:

obtain a first image frame from a first video stream;

reshape at least a portion of the first image frame to generate a modified image frame, wherein the modified image frame is different from the first image frame;

generate a first altered image frame that includes first and second non-overlapping portions, wherein the first non-overlapping portion comprises a first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the second non-overlapping portion; and

generate a second altered image frame that includes third and fourth non-overlapping portions, wherein the third non-overlapping portion comprises a second portion of the modified image frame, the second portion of the modified image frame being different from the first portion of the modified image frame, wherein the first image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion, wherein the modified image frame does not include the fourth non-overlapping portion.

22. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the second non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

23. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the fourth non-overlapping portion of the first altered frame is black.

24. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein said processor is adapted to display the first altered image frame and to display the second altered image frame.
