Abstract

Provided is a communication device, which is enabled to improve the throughput of a communication system by reducing the difference of a transmission power between an SCCH and an SDCH thereby to satisfy the required quality of a PAPR. In this device, an MCS selection unit ( 111 ) of a transmission unit ( 110 ) decides, with reference to a CQI lookup table, an MCS pattern (MCS 1 ) of the SDCH, an MCS pattern (MCS 2 ) of the SCCH and information (multiplex information) on multiplex positions on the time axes of those two channels, on the basis of the CQI information. On the basis of the MCS 2 and the MCS 1 , encoding modulation units ( 112 and 113 ) perform encoding and modulating operations. According to the multiplex information, a channel multiplexing unit ( 114 ) time-division multiplexes the SCCH and the SDCH thereby to generate a transmission signal.

Claims (41)

1. A mobile station comprising:

a processor configured:

to determine a first coding rate based on modulation and coding scheme (MCS) information received from a base station;

to calculate a second coding rate based on the MCS information and offset information received from the base station by adjusting the first coding rate based on the offset information;

a transmitter configured to transmit a first type of data using the first coding rate and to transmit a second type of data using the second coding rate, wherein the first type of information and second type of information comprise differing channels which are multiplexed within a same frame.

2. The mobile station of claim 1 , wherein a number of bits forming the offset information is smaller than a number of bits forming the MCS information.

3. The mobile station of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to calculate the second coding rate using a look-up table.

4. The mobile station of claim 1 , wherein the first type of data comprises user data and the second type of data comprises control information.

5. The mobile station of claim 1 , wherein the information to determine the first coding rate and the offset information are included in a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) signal received from the base station.

6. The mobile station of claim 1 , wherein the offset information is received from the base station separately from the MCS information.

7. A transmitting apparatus for transmitting data and control information in a single carrier system, the apparatus comprising:

a processor configured:

to determine a first coding rate based on information for determining the first coding rate, the information for determining the first coding rate received from a base station;

to calculate a second coding rate based on the information for determining the first coding rate and offset information received from the base station, the second coding rate being calculated according to arranged information that defines a relationship among the first coding rate, the offset information, and the second coding rate, wherein a value of the offset information is used to adjust the first coding rate; and

a transmitter configured to transmit in a same frame the data using the first coding rate and the control information using the second coding rate.

8. The transmitting apparatus of claim 7 , wherein a total bit length of the offset information is smaller than a total bit length of the information for determining the first coding rate.

9. The transmitting apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the arranged information comprises plural pieces of information stored in memory of the transmitting apparatus.

10. The transmitting apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the offset information is received from the base station separately from the information for determining the first coding rate.

11. A transmitting apparatus, comprising:

a processor configured:

to determine a first coding rate based on received information for determining the first coding rate;

to calculate a second coding rate based on the received information for determining the first coding rate and received offset information by adjusting the first coding rate based on the offset information; and

a transmitter configured to transmit a first type of information using the first coding rate and a second type of information using the second coding rate, wherein the first type of information and second type of information comprise differing channels which are multiplexed within a same frame.

12. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting apparatus is a mobile apparatus and the received information for determining the first coding rate and the offset information are received from a radio base station.

13. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the differing channels comprise a control channel and a data channel.

14. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the differing channels comprise a shared control channel (SCCH) and a shared data channel (SDCH).

15. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the differing channels are time multiplexed within the same frame.

16. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the transmitting apparatus is a mobile apparatus and the received information for determining the first coding rate and the offset information are received from a radio base station.

17. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the data is transmitted in a data channel and the control information is transmitted in a control channel.

18. The transmitting apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the data channel is a shared control channel (SCCH) and the control channel is a shared data channel (SDCH).

19. The transmitting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the offset information is received from the base station separately from the information for determining the first coding rate.

20. A mobile apparatus, comprising:

a receiver configured to receive modulation and coding scheme (MCS) information;

a processor configured:

to determine a first coding rate based on received information related to the first coding rate, received information related to the first coding rate comprising the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) information;

to calculate a second coding rate based on the received information related to the first coding rate and received offset information by adjusting the first coding rate based on the offset information; and

a transmitter configured to transmit a first type of information using the first coding rate and to transmit a second type of information using the second coding rate, wherein the first type of information and second type of information comprise differing channels which are multiplexed within a same frame.

21. The transmitting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the differing channels comprise a control channel and a data channel.

22. The transmitting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the differing channels comprise a shared control channel (SCCH) and a shared data channel (SDCH).

23. The transmitting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the differing channels are time multiplexed within the same frame.

24. The mobile station of claim 20 , wherein the offset information is received from the base station separately from the information related to the first coding rate.
