Synthesis of platinum and palladium complexes as narrow-band phosphorescent emitters for full color displays
View Patent ↗Platinum and palladium complexes are disclosed that can be useful as narrow band phosphorescent emitters. Also disclosed are methods for preparing and using the platinum and palladium complexes.
1. A complex having the formula:
wherein:
M is platinum or palladium;
each of X 1 , X 2 , X 3 and X 4 individually is coordinated to the platinum or palladium atom, and independently comprises a carbon or a nitrogen atom;
each of A 1 and A 2 independently is a linking atom selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, carbon, boron, phosphorus, silicon, and oxygen, and wherein each of A 1 and A 2 independently optionally is substituted;
each of b 1 and b 2 individually optionally is present or absent, and if present independently comprises a bond, oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, carbon, boron, phosphorus, silicon, or a combination thereof;
is pyridinyl, isoquinolinyl, methylimidazolyl, or
is phenyl or pyridyl;
is phenyl or pyridinyl;
is phenyl, pyridinyl, naphthyl, isoquinolinyl,
is phenyl; and
is phenyl or absent,
provided the complex is not
