a second treatment region coupled to the distal portion of the catheter body at a location that is distal to the expandable first treatment region and defines an outer surface and a distal tip of the medical device;
activating the expandable first treatment region to create a first treatment pattern in the first tissue area;
deactivating the expandable first treatment region;
repositioning the medical device such that the second treatment region is proximate a second tissue area; and
activating the second treatment region to treat a second treatment pattern in the second tissue area, the second treatment pattern being different than the first treatment pattern.
