Abstract

Disclosed are a safety service system and a method thereof. The safety service system comprises: a collection unit for collecting position information and image information related to a protected person who is registered by a protector; and a service providing unit for providing the position information and the image information to one or both of the protector and a security company upon detection of a signal that the protected person is in danger.

Claims (39)

1. A user terminal for providing a safety service, comprising:

a location calculator that acquires a current location of the user terminal;

a communication unit that communicates with a security system;

a memory having computer readable instructions stored thereon; and

at least one processor configured to execute the computer readable instructions to determine whether an emergency situation is detected or a request of the safety service from a guardian terminal for the user terminal is received, wherein the emergency situation being detected requires no operation performed by a user of the user terminal to the user terminal and, in response to the emergency situation being detected or the request of the safety service being received, transmit the current location to at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system;

wherein the user terminal is registered on the security system which is associated with a user of the guardian terminal,

wherein the user terminal further comprises a camera unit that captures a peripheral image of the user terminal at predetermined time intervals, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the computer readable instructions to, in response to the emergency situation being detected or the request of the safety service being received, transmit the captured peripheral image to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system.

2. The user terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein the location calculator is configured to acquire the current location of the user terminal at predetermined time intervals, and

wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer readable instructions to transmit the current location at predetermined time intervals to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system.

3. The user terminal of claim 1 , further comprising an impact detector,

wherein the impact detector is configured to detect an external impact applied to the user terminal, and

wherein, in response to a detected level of the external impact exceeding a threshold value, the at least one processor is configured to execute the computer readable instructions to determine whether the emergency situation is being detected and transmit the current location information to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system if the emergency situation is detected.

4. The user terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein,

in response to the emergency situation being detected, the at least one processor is configured to notify the guardian terminal of occurrence of the emergency situation.

5. The user terminal of claim 1 ,

wherein, in response to the current location being deviated from a safety zone or the current location being within a danger zone, the user terminal is determined as having the emergency situation, and

wherein the safety zone and the danger zone are defined by the guardian terminal.

6. A method for providing a safety service, performed by a user terminal configured to communicate with a security system, comprising:

acquiring a current location of the user terminal;

determining whether an emergency situation is detected in the user terminal or a request of the safety service from a guardian terminal for the user terminal is received at the user terminal, wherein the emergency situation being detected requires no operation performed by a user of the user terminal to the user terminal; and

in response to the emergency situation being detected or the request of the safety service being received, transmitting the current location to at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system;

wherein the user terminal is registered on the security system which is associated with a user of the guardian terminal,

wherein the method further comprises

capturing a peripheral image of the user terminal at predetermined time intervals,

wherein the transmitting comprises, in response to the emergency situation being detected or the request of the safety service being received, transmitting the captured peripheral image to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system.

7. The method of claim 6 ,

wherein the acquiring comprises acquiring the current location of the user terminal at predetermined time intervals, and

wherein the transmitting comprises transmitting the current location at predetermined time intervals to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system.

8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

detecting an external impact applied to the user terminal, and

in response to a detected level of the external impact exceeding a threshold value, determining whether the emergency situation is being detected and transmitting the current location information to the at least one of the guardian terminal and the security system.

9. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

in response to the emergency situation being detected, notifying the guardian terminal of the occurrence of the emergency situation.

10. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:

in response to the current location being deviated from a safety zone or the current location being within a danger zone, determining the user terminal as having the emergency situation, and

wherein the safety zone and the danger zone are defined by the guardian terminal.
