Abstract

Systems and methods for creating a three-dimensional (3D) model of a telecommunications site and performing an augmented reality add-in of equipment or structures therein include obtaining data capture of the telecommunications site utilizing a plurality of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), a satellite, a multiple camera apparatus, and a telescoping apparatus; creating the 3D model utilizing the data capture; inserting currently non-existing equipment or structures in the 3D model; and performing engineering and planning for the telecommunications site utilizing the 3D model with the inserted currently non-existing equipment.

Claims (36)

1. A method for creating a three-dimensional (3D) model of a telecommunications site and performing an augmented reality add-in of equipment or structures therein, the method comprising:

coordinating and obtaining data capture of multiple images the telecommunications site, current equipment of the telecommunications site, and current structures of the telecommunications site utilizing a plurality of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), a satellite, a multiple camera apparatus, and a telescoping apparatus;

creating the 3D model by combining the data capture from the plurality of the UAV, the satellite, the multiple camera apparatus, and the telescoping apparatus;

inserting currently non-existing equipment or structures in the 3D model; and

performing engineering and planning for the telecommunications site utilizing the 3D model with the inserted currently non-existing equipment.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the non-existing equipment or structures comprises one or more of radios, power plants, batteries, Over Voltage Protection (OVP) equipment, 5G telecom equipment, antennas, Tower Mounted Antennas (TMAs), and Remote Radio Head (RRH) equipment.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining specifications of the non-existing equipment or structures and incorporating the specifications in the 3D model; and

causing display of one or more of the specifications based on a selection in the 3D model.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the specifications comprise a plurality of dimensions, wattage, voltage, current, cost, and decibels.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a necessary change to the telecommunications site based on the specifications of the inserted non-existing equipment or structures.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a Bill of Materials (BOM) for a plurality of types of the non-existing equipment or structures; and

providing a listing of a specific BOM based on the inserted non-existing equipment or structures.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

utilizing the 3D model for site planning and engineering for a change in the telecommunications site.

8. A system configured to create a three-dimensional (3D) model of a telecommunications site and performing an augmented reality add-in of equipment or structures therein, the system comprising:

a network interface and a processor communicatively coupled to one another; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to

coordinate and obtain data capture of multiple images of the telecommunications site, current equipment of the telecommunications site, and current structures of the telecommunications site utilizing a plurality of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), a satellite, a multiple camera apparatus, and a telescoping apparatus;

create the 3D model by combining the data capture from the plurality of the UAV, the satellite, the multiple camera apparatus, and the telescoping apparatus;

insert currently non-existing equipment or structures in the 3D model; and

perform engineering and planning for the telecommunications site utilizing the 3D model with the inserted currently non-existing equipment.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the non-existing equipment or structures comprises one or more of radios, power plants, batteries, Over Voltage Protection (OVP) equipment, 5G telecom equipment, antennas, Tower Mounted Antennas (TMAs), and Remote Radio Head (RRH) equipment.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to

determine specifications of the non-existing equipment or structures and incorporating the specifications in the 3D model; and

cause display of one or more of the specifications based on a selection in the 3D model.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the specifications comprise a plurality of dimensions, wattage, voltage, current, cost, and decibels.

12. The system of claim 8 , wherein the memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to

determine a necessary change to the telecommunications site based on the specifications of the inserted non-existing equipment or structures.

13. The system of claim 8 , wherein the memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to

determine a Bill of Materials (BOM) for a plurality of types of the non-existing equipment or structures; and

provide a listing of a specific BOM based on the inserted non-existing equipment or structures.

14. The system of claim 8 , wherein the memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to

utilizing the 3D model for site planning and engineering for a change in the telecommunications site.
