Abstract

An audio-visual system may include a housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space, an audio-visual device installed inside the housing and exposable through the open upper end, and a lifting device configured to expose or store the audio-visual device inside the housing through the open upper end. The audio-visual device may include a display, a speaker, and a processor configured to control the audio-visual system to operate in a first mode for outputting media art content while the display is stored in the housing according to a first event, operate in a second mode for outputting audio content through the speaker while part of the display is exposed through the open upper end according to a second event, and operate in a third mode for outputting a visual content while the entire display is exposed through the open upper end according to a third event.

Claims (49)

1. An audio-visual device comprising:

a speaker housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space inside the speaker housing;

a speaker disposed in the speaker housing;

a display configured to be stored inside the speaker housing and exposable through the open upper end of the speaker housing;

an actuator configured to expose the display and store the display inside the speaker housing through the open upper end of the speaker housing; and

a processor configured to:

based on a mode for exposing a partial portion of a screen the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing being selected from among a plurality of modes for exposing no portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing, exposing a partial portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing, and exposing an entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing, control the actuator to expose the partial portion of the screen of the display,

control the speaker to reproduce the audio content, and

control the display to display information relating to the audio content being reproduced on the partial portion of the screen of the display.

2. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

based on the mode for exposing the entire portion of the screen through the open upper end of the speaker housing being selected, control the actuator to expose the entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing and control the display to display video content on the entire portion of the display.

3. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the actuator comprises:

a motor; and

a lifting unit configured to expose the display the through the open upper end of the speaker housing.

4. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising:

a communicator, and

wherein the processor is configured to, based on the mode for exposing the partial portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing being selected, control the communicator to communicate with a source device providing the audio content or the information relating to the audio content.

5. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the information relating to the audio content being reproduced is a user interface for controlling output of the audio content.

6. A method for controlling an audio-visual device comprising a speaker housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space inside the speaker housing, a speaker disposed in the speaker housing, a display configured to be stored inside the speaker housing and exposable through the open upper end of the speaker housing, and a actuator configured to expose the display and store the display inside the speaker housing through the open upper end of the speaker housing, the method comprising:

based on a mode for exposing a partial portion of a screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing being selected from among a plurality of modes for exposing no portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing, exposing a partial portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing, and an entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing controlling the actuator to expose the partial portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing;

controlling the speaker to reproduce an audio content; and

control the display to display information relating to the audio content being reproduced on the partial portion of the screen of the display.

7. The method as claimed in claim 6 , further comprising:

based on the mode for exposing the exposing the entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing being selected, controlling the actuator to expose the entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing and controlling the display to display video content on the entire portion of the display.

8. The method as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the actuator comprises a motor and a lifting unit configured to expose the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing.

9. The method as claimed in claim 6 , further comprising:

based on the mode for exposing the partial portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the sneaker housing being selected, communicating with a source device providing the audio content or the information relating to the audio content.

10. The method as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the information relating to the audio content being reproduced is a user interface for controlling output of the audio content.

11. An audio-visual device comprising:

a speaker housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space inside the speaker housing;

a speaker disposed in the speaker housing;

a display configured to be stored inside the speaker housing and exposable through the open upper end of the speaker housing; and

an actuator configured to expose the display and store the display inside the speaker housing through the open upper end of the speaker housing,

a processor configured to:

based on a mode being selected from among a plurality of modes including a mode for reproducing an audio content while no portion of a screen of the display is exposed through the open upper end of the speaker housing, a mode for reproducing an audio content while a partial portion of the screen of the display is exposed through the open upper end of the speaker housing, and a mode for reproducing a video content while an entire portion of the screen of the display is exposed through the open upper end of the speaker housing, control the actuator to expose the partial portion of the screen of the display when the selected mode is the mode for reproducing the audio content while the partial portion of the screen of the display is exposed through the open upper end of the speaker housing,

control the speaker to reproduce the audio content, and

control the display to display information relating to the audio content being reproduced on the partial portion of the screen of the display exposed through the open upper end of the speaker housing.

12. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

when the selected mode is the mode for exposing the entire portion of the screen through the open upper end of the speaker housing, control the actuator to expose the entire portion of the screen of the display through the open upper end of the speaker housing and control the display to display video content on the entire portion of the display.
