Abstract

An audio-visual system may include a housing comprising an open upper end and a storage space, an audio-visual device installed inside the housing and exposable through the open upper end, and a lifting device configured to expose or store the audio-visual device inside the housing through the open upper end. The audio-visual device may include a display, a speaker, and a processor configured to control the audio-visual system to operate in a first mode for outputting media art content while the display is stored in the housing according to a first event, operate in a second mode for outputting audio content through the speaker while part of the display is exposed through the open upper end according to a second event, and operate in a third mode for outputting a visual content while the entire display is exposed through the open upper end according to a third event.

Claims (41)

1. An audio-visual device comprising:

a housing;

a speaker;

a display comprising a display area;

a communicator configured to communicate with a remote controller;

an actuator configured to change at least a portion of the display area that is exposed outside the housing; and

at least one processor configured to:

in response to receiving a signal from the remote controller through the communicator, control the actuator to change the portion of the display area that is exposed outside the housing by setting the audio-visual device to a mode from among a first mode for exposing only a first portion of the display area of the display outside the housing and a second mode for exposing the first portion and a second portion of the display area of the display outside the housing, wherein the second portion is different from the first portion, and

while the audio-visual device is in the first mode, control the speaker to reproduce an audio content and control the display to display, on the first portion of the display area of the display, information relating to the audio content being reproduced.

2. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

while the audio-visual device is in the second mode, control the display to display video content on the first portion and the second portion of the display area.

3. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the information relating to the audio content being reproduced is a user interface to provide the information relating to the audio content being reproduced.

4. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the user interface is configured to be displayed in an aspect ratio that corresponds to an aspect ratio of the first portion of the display area.

5. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the remote controller has a plurality of buttons, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

in response to receiving the signal from the remote controller while the audio-visual device is in the first mode, the signal corresponding to a button from among the plurality of buttons, control the actuator to set the audio-visual device from the first mode to the second mode.

6. The audio-visual device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the remote controller has a plurality of buttons, and

wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

in response to receiving the signal from the remote controller while the audio-visual device is in the second mode, the signal corresponding to a button from among the plurality of buttons, control the actuator to set the audio-visual device from the second mode to the first mode.

7. The audio-visual device of claim 1 , wherein the remote controller has a plurality of buttons, and

wherein the signal corresponds to a button from among the plurality of buttons.

8. The audio-visual device of claim 1 , wherein an aspect ratio of the displayed information relating to the audio content corresponds to an aspect ratio of the first portion of the display area.

9. The audio-visual device of claim 1 , wherein the actuator is configured to change the portion of the display area that is exposed outside the housing by moving the display relative to the housing.

10. An audio-visual device comprising:

a housing;

a speaker;

a display comprising a display area;

a communicator configured to communicate with a remote controller comprising a plurality of buttons;

an actuator configured to change at least a portion of the display area that is exposed outside the housing; and

at least one processor configured to:

while the audio-visual device is in a first mode for exposing only a first portion of the display area of the display outside the housing, control the speaker to reproduce an audio content and control the display to display, on the first portion of the display area of the display, information relating to the audio content being reproduced

in response to receiving a signal corresponding to a button from among the plurality of buttons from the remote controller through the communicator while the audio-visual device is in the first mode, control the actuator to set the audio-visual device to a second mode for exposing the first portion and a second portion of the display area of the display outside the housing, wherein the second portion is different from the first portion.

11. An audio-visual device comprising:

a housing;

a speaker;

a display comprising a display area;

a communicator configured to communicate with a remote controller comprising a plurality of buttons;

an actuator configured to change at least a portion of the display area that is exposed outside the housing; and

at least one processor configured to:

in response to receiving a signal corresponding to a button from among the plurality of buttons from the remote controller through the communicator while the audio-visual device is in a second mode for exposing a first portion of the display area of the display and a second portion of the display area of the display outside the housing, control the actuator to set the audio-visual device to a first mode for exposing only the first portion of the display area outside the housing, wherein the second portion is different from the first portion, and

while the audio-visual device is in the first mode, control the speaker to reproduce an audio content and control the display to display, on the first portion of the display area of the display, information relating to the audio content being reproduced.
