the composition is selected from the group consisting of a dietary supplement, a nutraceutical, a drink, a medical composition, and a powder for reconstitution with a liquid, wherein the composition comprises a fat source that is 20 wt. % to 40 wt. % of the composition, and the composition does not contain any Lactobacillus rhamnosus,

wherein the anxiety-linked functional GI disorder is selected from the group consisting of irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, functional constipation, functional abdominal pain, functional bloating, Epigastric Pain Syndrome, Postprandial Distress Syndrome and combinations thereof, and

the composition has at least one formulation selected from the group consisting of (i) the composition does not contain inulin and does not contain fructooligosaccharides and (ii) the composition does not contain lactose.

2. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises at least one other food grade bacterium.

3. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises at least one prebiotic.

4. The method in accordance with claim 3 , wherein the at least one prebiotic is selected from the group consisting of oligosaccharides; dietary fibers; and mixtures thereof.

5. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein at least 5% of the Bifidobacterium longum ATCC BAA-999 are viable in the composition.

6. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein at least 80% of the Bifidobacterium longum ATCC BAA-999 are non-replicating in the composition.

7. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises between 10 4 and 10 10 cells of Bifidobacterium longum ATCC BAA-999 per daily dose.

8. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition comprises between 10 2 and 10 8 cells of Bifidobacterium longum ATCC BAA-999 per g of the dry weight of the composition.

9. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises a protein source comprising hydrolyzed whey protein.

10. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition is in powder form having a water activity of less than 0.2.

11. The method in accordance with claim 2 , wherein the at least one other food grade bacterium is selected from the group consisting of lactic acid bacteria, bifidobacteria, propionibacteria and mixtures thereof.

12. The method in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the composition further comprises protein and a source of carbohydrates.

13. The method in accordance with claim 12 , wherein the source of carbohydrates is 40 wt. % is 80 wt. % of the composition.
