Abstract

A system, method and computer program product for providing targeted messages to a person using telephony services by generating user profile information from telephony data and using the user profile information to retrieve targeted messages.

Claims (30)

1. A mobile device comprising:

means for capturing an audio signal;

means for converting at least a portion of the captured audio signal into text data;

means for logging call history information for a user of the mobile device, wherein the call history information is based at least in part of a plurality of calls involving the user;

means for transmitting the logged call history information, the text data, or both the logged call history information and the text data to a remote server; and

means for displaying a targeted message received at the mobile device from the remote server, wherein the targeted message has been selected from a database comprising a plurality of messages, based at least in part on the logged call history information, the text data or both the logged call history and the text data.

2. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the targeted message includes at least one of sound, text, and image data.

3. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the targeted message has been selected further based on keywords extracted from the text data.

4. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the call history comprises date, time, and duration of telephone calls placed and received.

5. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the call history comprises one or more of name information, call type information, geographical information, business information, or reverse lookup information.

6. A computer-implemented method of displaying a targeted message at a client device, the method comprising:

capturing an audio signal;

converting at least a portion of the captured audio signal into text data;

logging call history information for a user of a mobile device, wherein the call history information is based at least in part of a plurality of calls involving the user;

transmitting the logged call history information, the text data, or both the logged call history information and the text data to a remote server; and

displaying a targeted message received at the mobile device from the remote server, wherein the targeted message has been selected from a database comprising a plurality of messages, based at least in part on the logged call history information, the text data or both the logged call history and the text data.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the targeted message includes at least one of sound, text, and image data.

8. The method of claim 6 , wherein the targeted message has been selected further based on keywords extracted from the text data.

9. The method of claim 6 , wherein the call history comprises date, time, and duration of telephone calls placed and received.

10. The method of claim 6 , wherein the call history comprises one or more of name information, call type information, geographical information, business information, or reverse lookup information.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored therein that, in response to execution by a mobile computing device, cause the mobile computing device to:

capture an audio signal;

convert at least a portion of the captured audio signal into text data;

log call history information for a user of a mobile device, wherein the call history information is based at least in part of a plurality of calls involving the user;

transmit the logged call history information, the text data, or both the logged call history information and the text data to a remote server; and

display a targeted message received at the mobile device from the remote server, wherein the targeted message has been selected from a database comprising a plurality of messages, based at least in part on the logged call history information, the text data or both the logged call history and the text data.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the targeted message includes at least one of sound, text, and image data.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the targeted message has been selected further based on keywords extracted from the text data.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the call history comprises date, time, and duration of telephone calls placed and received.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 11 , wherein the call history comprises one or more of name information, call type information, geographical information, business information, or reverse lookup information.
