Abstract

A pharmaceutical composition containing isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is administered to an individual in need thereof for treating a substance addiction, inclusive of addiction to heroin (diacetylmorphine), cocaine, opioids, methadone, d-methamphetamine, barbiturates, alcohol, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, or buprenorphine. The isomyosmine, along with optional additional therapeutic agent(s), may be administered in a capsule, tablet, or lozenge.

Claims (10)

1. A method of treating a cocaine addiction comprising administering to an individual in need thereof a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle therefor.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is administered via a capsule, tablet, or lozenge.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an amount from about 5 mg to about 1,500 mg.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an amount from about 10 mg to about 1,200 mg.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an amount from about 50 mg to about 1,000 mg.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains isomyosmine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an amount from about 100 mg to about 850 mg.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition further comprises a second therapeutic agent.

8. The method of claim 7 , wherein the second therapeutic agent comprises an anti-inflammatory compound.

9. The method of claim 7 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains the second therapeutic agent in an amount from about 5 mg to about 1,500 mg.

10. The method of claim 7 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains the second therapeutic agent in an amount from about 10 mg to about 1,200 mg.
