Abstract

A digital authorization system enables two parties who mistrust each other to complete a transaction. The digital authorization system issues a new pass code for the transaction. The pass code is sent to a first party of the transaction. The first party demonstrates its consent to the transaction by transferring the pass code to a second party. The second party demonstrates its consent to the transaction by transferring the pass code back to the digital authorization system. The digital authorization system approves the transaction when it receives the pass code from the second party.

determining, by the central computer, there are funds in the account that cover the amount of the transaction based on the indication;

freezing, by the central computer, the funds in the account;

generating, by the central computer, a passcode having an expiration time;

transmitting, by the central computer, the passcode to the device;

receiving, by the central computer, the transmitted passcode from the merchant computer, via the second device interface;

determining, by the central computer, based on the expiration time, that the passcode has expired; and

unfreezing, by the central computer, the funds in the account.

2 . The method of claim 1 , in which identification data of the first party is associated with at least one of a name, an address, a date of birth, a personal identification number, a user ID, a password, a tax identification number, a social security number, a type of identification document, an identity number of a document, a driver's license, a passport, an alien identification card, a student identification card, a social security card, a tax identification card, a national identification card, a voter identification card, a benefits card, a government issued identification document, a private organization issued identification document, an expiration date of an identification document, a phone number, a screen name, an e-mail address, a photograph, a fingerprint, an iris scan, a physical description, a biometrical information, or a combination thereof.

3 . The method of claim 1 , in which the device of the first party comprises at least one of a computer system, a personal communications device, a device interface, or a combination thereof.
