Abstract

A video aggregation system for providing a user personalized video content from videos available on the Internet generates a selective feed by combining a first feed and a second feed. The video aggregation system receives a search request from an Internet service and transmits a search reply containing a separately resolvable link to a video content object from the selective feed.

Claims (61)

1. A video processing system, for providing users personalized video content from videos available on the Internet, the video processing system comprising:

a first service feed that:

is acquired from a first Internet service that is accessible from the Internet; and

comprises a first plurality of feed items, wherein each of the first plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet;

a second service feed that:

is acquired from a second Internet service that is accessible from the Internet; and

comprises a second plurality of feed items, wherein each of the second plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to a content object available from the Internet; and

an aggregation system that is configured to:

identify separately resolvable links that link to video content objects;

generate a selective feed by combining a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from the first service feed and a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from the second service feed, wherein the aggregation system combines the first service feed and the second service feed by:

receiving the first service feed;

reducing the first plurality of feed items of the first service feed to a first subset of feed items that link to video content items available from the Internet;

receiving the second service feed;

reducing the second plurality of feed items of the second service feed to a second subset of feed items that link to video content objects available from the Internet; and

combining the first subset of feed items with the second subset of feed items;

monitor a user interaction with the selective feed;

receive a search request from an Internet service separate from the video processing system, wherein the search request comprises a search term; and

transmit a search reply in response the search request, wherein the search reply is based on the search request and comprises a separately resolvable link to a video content object from the selective feed.

2. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein:

the first plurality of feed items are arranged serially in the first service feed; and

the second plurality of feed items are arranged serially in the second service feed.

3. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein the search request comprises the search term and a device identifier.

4. The video processing system of claim 3 , wherein the device identifier comprises one or more of a device name, a device number, a device serial number, a global unique identifier associated with an end-user device, an IP address, or a host number.

5. The video processing system of claim 3 , wherein the separately resolvable link to the video content object from the selective feed is associated with a device associated with the device identifier.

6. The video processing system of claim 3 , wherein the reply comprises a separately resolvable link to the video content object from the selective feed is associated with a user associated with the device identifier.

7. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein the search request comprises a user identifier, and the user identifier comprises one or more of a user name, a user number, a user account identifier, a token associated with a user account, or a global unique identifier associated with a user.

8. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein the search reply includes user information associated with all or a subset of users of the aggregation system.

9. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein items in the search reply are ranked, prioritized, scored, and/or weighted based on data collected by the aggregation system.

10. The video processing system of claim 1 , wherein the search reply includes an Internet domain name, an Internet service, a feed, a keyword associated with one or more feeds, a composition characteristic of feeds, or feed items associated with a user of the aggregation system.

11. A method comprising:

identifying separately resolvable links that link to video content objects;

generating a selective feed by combining a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from a first service feed and a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from a second service feed, wherein generating the selective feed comprises:

receiving the first service feed;

reducing feed items of the first service feed to a first subset of feed items that link to video content items available from the Internet;

receiving the second service feed;

reducing feed items of the second service feed to a second subset of feed items that link to video content objects available from the Internet; and

combining the first subset of feed items with the second subset of feed items;

monitoring a user interaction with the selective feed;

receiving a search request from an Internet service, wherein the search request comprises a search term; and

transmitting a search reply in response the search request, wherein the search reply is based on the search request and comprises a separately resolvable link to a video content object from the selective feed.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the search request comprises the search term and a user identifier.

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein the user interaction includes one or more of a sharing activity, a viewing activity, a rating activity, a following activity, or a subscribing activity.

14. A memory device having instructions that when executed cause one or more processors to perform the following steps:

identify separately resolvable links that link to video content objects;

generate a selective feed by combining a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from a first service feed and a plurality of separately resolvable links from feed items from a second service feed;

monitor user interaction with the selective feed;

receive a search request from an Internet service, wherein the search request comprises a search term; and

transmit a search reply in response the search request, wherein:

the search reply is based on the search request and comprises a separately resolvable link to a video content object from the selective feed; and

the search reply includes user information associated with all or a subset of users of an aggregation system.

15. The memory device of claim 14 , wherein the search reply includes a specific feed item.

16. The memory device of claim 15 , wherein the specific feed item is from the selective feed provided to a second end-user device.

17. The memory device of claim 14 , wherein the search reply includes one or more user identifiers.

18. The memory device of claim 17 , wherein the one or more user identifiers include one or more of a user name, a user number, a device name, a device number, a global unique identifier associated with a user or device, an IP address, and/or a host number.

19. The method of claim 11 , wherein the search reply includes user information associated with all or a subset of users of an aggregation system.

20. The memory device of claim 14 , wherein generating the selective feed comprises:

receiving the first service feed;

reducing first plurality of feed items of the first service feed to a first subset of feed items that link to video content items available from the Internet;

receiving the second service feed;

reducing second plurality of feed items of the second service feed to a second subset of feed items that link to video content objects available from the Internet; and

combining the first subset of feed items with the second subset of feed items.
