Abstract

A method for providing a game in which a plurality of missions is presented to a user device each time a certain period has elapsed from a server having a storage unit for storing user information relating to a plurality of users, includes the steps of generating a plurality of different missions for each of the plurality of users based on the user information stored in the storage unit, presenting a list of the generated missions for each of the users on the user device, and presenting an operational element for updating a mission included in the presented list to another mission regardless of the elapse of the period in accordance with the progress of presented missions.

Claims (51)

1. A method for providing a game, over a communication network, to a plurality of user devices from a server device, the method comprising:

generating a plurality of missions for each of a plurality of users;

storing in a memory a plurality of relations between a plurality of items and the plurality of missions;

transmitting over the communication network, to a first user device, displaying information for presenting a list of the missions generated for a first user on the first user device, the list indicating each of the missions, an item associated with a mission which the first user can acquire by clearing the mission, and an exchange element for changing a displayed mission to another mission to be presented in the list;

receiving an identifier of an item from the first user device;

identifying a second mission in which the item specified by the received identifier can be acquired, responsive to the stored relations between the plurality of items and the plurality of missions; and

updating the displaying information so that at least one of the missions included in the list is replaced with the identified second mission generated for the first user, when the exchange element is activated.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the generating generates a mission for a user so that a value or a number of items which the user can acquire by clearing the mission increases as a skill level of the user rises.

3. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

selecting a mission presented on a second user device of a second user who has a game-mission sharing relationship with the first user as a shared mission which the first user can also play, wherein

the displaying information transmitted by the transmitting includes data for presenting, in the list, the shared mission together with a mission generated for the first user.

4. The method according to claim 3 , wherein a number of shared missions presented in the list or an item which the first user can acquire in the shared mission is changed depending on a degree of intimacy between the first user and the second user.

5. The method according to claim 3 , further comprising:

pushing a notification to the second user device of the second user indicating that a mission presented on the second user device of the second user, who is in a friend status with the first user, has also been presented on the first user device of the first user.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the exchange element is enabled based on the at least one of the missions in the list being cleared.

7. The method according to claim 1 , wherein

the displaying information transmitted by the displaying includes data for displaying the exchange element in the presented list so that the first user can operate the exchange element a plurality of times regardless of progress of the missions included in the presented list, and

the updating updates the displaying information each time the exchange operational element is operated on.

8. A non-transitory storage medium having stored therein a control program for a server device providing a game, over a communication network, to a plurality of user devices, the control program, when executed by the server device, causes the server device to perform a process, the process comprising:

generating a plurality of missions for each of the plurality of users;

storing in a memory a plurality of relations between a plurality of items and the plurality of missions;

transmitting over the communication network, to a first user device, displaying information for presenting a list of the missions generated for a first user on the first user device, the list indicating each of the missions, an item associated with a mission which the first user can acquire by clearing the mission, and an exchange element for changing a displayed mission to another mission to be presented in the list;

receiving an identifier of an item from the first user device;

identifying a second mission in which the item specified by the received identifier can be acquired, responsive to the stored relations between the plurality of items and the plurality of missions; and

updating the displaying information so that at least one of the missions included in the list is replaced with the identified second mission generated for the first user, when the exchange element is activated.

9. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 8 , wherein the generating generates a mission for a user so that a value or a number of items which the user can acquire by clearing the mission increases as a skill level of the user rises.

10. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 8 , wherein

the process further comprises selecting a mission presented on a second user device of a second user who has a game-mission sharing relationship with the first user as a shared mission which the first user can also play, and

the displaying information transmitted by the transmitting includes data for presenting, in the list, the shared mission together with a mission generated for the first user.

11. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 10 wherein a number of shared missions presented in the list or an item which the first user can acquire in the shared mission is changed depending on a degree of intimacy between the first user and the second user.

12. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 10 , wherein the process further comprises:

pushing a notification to the second user device of the second user indicating that a mission presented on the second user device of the second user, who is in a friend status with the first user, has also been presented on the first user device of the first user.

13. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 8 , wherein the exchange element is enabled based on the at least one of the missions in the list being cleared.

14. The non-transitory storage medium according to claim 8 , wherein

the displaying information transmitted by the displaying includes data for displaying the exchange element in the presented list so that the first user can operate the exchange element a plurality of times regardless of progress of the missions included in the presented list, and

the updating updates the displaying information each time the exchange operational element is operated on.

15. A server device for providing a game, over a communication network, to a plurality of user devices, the server device comprising:

a memory to store a plurality of relations between a plurality of items and the plurality of missions; and

processing circuitry configured to

generate a plurality of missions for each of a plurality of users,

transmit over the communication network, to a first user device, displaying information for presenting a list of the missions generated for a first user on the first user device, the list indicating each of the missions, an item associated with a mission which the first user can acquire by clearing the mission, and an exchange element for changing a displayed mission to another mission to be presented in the list,

receive an identifier of an item from the first user device,

identify a second mission in which the item specified by the received identifier can be acquired, responsive to the stored relations between the plurality of items and the plurality of missions, and

update the displaying information so that at least one of the missions included in the list is replaced with the identified second mission generated for the first user, when the exchange element is activated.

16. The server device according to claim 15 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to generate a mission for a user so that a value or a number of items which the user can acquire by clearing the mission increases as a skill level of the user rises.

17. The server device according to claim 15 , wherein

the processing circuitry is configured to select a mission presented on a second user device of a second user who has a game-mission sharing relationship with the first user as a shared mission which the first user can also play, and

the displaying information transmitted by the processing circuitry includes data for presenting, in the list, the shared mission together with a mission generated for the first user.

18. The server device according to claim 17 , wherein a number of shared missions presented in the list or an item which the first user can acquire in the shared mission is changed depending on a degree of intimacy between the first user and the second user.

19. The server device according to claim 17 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to push a notification to the second user device of the second user indicating that a mission presented on the second user device of the second user, who is in a friend status with the first user, has also been presented on the first user device of the first user.

20. The server device according to claim 15 , wherein the exchange element is enabled based on the at least one of the missions in the list being cleared.
