Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a camera system for an advanced driving assistance system (ADAS). The ADAS includes a voltage logic and a memory logic that may be used in a front-view camera system. The ADAS includes a scheme capable of coupling a lens barrel and a lens holder in a front-view camera system. The camera system according to the present disclosure includes a lens configured to capture a region ahead of a vehicle, a lens barrel configured to accommodate the lens in an internal space thereof, a lens holder coupled to the lens barrel, an image sensor configured to sense an image captured by the lens, an image processor configured to receive image data from the image sensor and process the received image data, and a camera micro-control unit (MCU) configured to communicate with the image processor and receive the data processed by the image processor.

Claims (64)

1. A camera system comprising:

a camera module, wherein the camera module comprises:

a first housing;

a lens;

a lens barrel supporting the lens;

a first printed circuit board disposed inside the first housing; and

an image sensor mounted on the first printed circuit board and configured to obtain image data through the lens;

a signal processing module spatially separated from the camera module and comprising:

a second housing,

a second printed circuit board disposed inside the second housing,

an image processor mounted on the second printed circuit board and configured to process the image data, and

a micro control unit (MCU) configured to provide a control signal to a vehicle based on processing the image data;

a cable electrically connecting the camera module to the signal processing module; and

a mounting module for fixing the camera module,

wherein the mounting module comprises a recess into which the camera module is inserted, and

wherein the camera module is inserted into the recess via a groove-protrusion joint.

2. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein the cable electrically connects the first printed circuit board to the second printed circuit board.

3. The camera system of claim 2 , wherein the camera module comprises a first interface connecting the first printed circuit board to the cable,

the signal processing module comprises a second interface connecting the second printed circuit board to the cable, and

the first interface, the second interface, and the cable use any one of coaxial cable or camera link or Universal Serial Bus (USB) or Gigabit Ethernet (GIGE).

4. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein the camera module comprises a first camera module configured to capture a front of the vehicle, a second camera module configured to capture a left side of the vehicle, and a third camera module configured to capture a right side of the vehicle.

5. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein the camera module comprises a first camera module including a wide-angle lens having a predetermined range of viewing angle, and a second camera module including a telephoto lens capable of capturing a target with a predetermined distance, and

a focal length of the first camera module is different from a focal length of the second camera module.

6. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein the camera module comprises a stereo camera.

7. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein

the mounting module is configured to fix the camera module to a windshield of the vehicle.

8. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer side of the first housing, and

a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner side of the recess.

9. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer side of the first housing, and

a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner side of the recess.

10. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein a guide groove extending in a direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner wall of the recess, and

a guide protrusion extending in the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer wall of the camera module.

11. The camera system of claim 10 , wherein a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the guide groove, and

a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the guide protrusion.

12. The camera system of claim 10 , wherein a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the guide groove, and

a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the guide protrusion.

13. The camera system of claim 1 , wherein a guide protrusion extending in a direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the inner wall of the recess, and

a guide groove extending in the direction in which the camera module is inserted into the recess is formed on the outer wall of the camera module.

14. A camera system comprising:

a lens;

a first housing and a second housing;

an image sensor configured to obtain image data;

an image processor configured to process the image data;

a micro control unit (MCU) configured to provide a control signal to a vehicle based on processing the image data; and

a mounting module for fixing the first housing,

wherein the image sensor is mounted on a first printed circuit board disposed in the first housing,

the image processor and the MCU are mounted on a second printed circuit board disposed in the second housing spatially separated from the first housing,

the image sensor is electrically connected to the image processor through a cable,

the mounting module comprises a recess into which the first housing is inserted, and

wherein the first housing is inserted into the recess via a groove-protrusion joint.

15. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein

a first interface for connecting the first printed circuit board to the cable is disposed on the first printed circuit board,

a second interface for connecting the second printed circuit board to the cable is disposed on the second printed circuit board,

the first interface, the second interface, and the cable use any one of coaxial cable or camera link or Universal Serial Bus (USB) or Gigabit Ethernet (GIGE).

16. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein

the mounting module is configured to fix the first housing to a windshield of the vehicle.

17. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein a guide groove extending in a direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner wall of the recess, and

a guide protrusion extending in the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer wall of the first housing.

18. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein a guide protrusion extending in a direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner wall of the recess, and

a guide groove extending in the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer wall of the first housing.

19. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer side of the first housing, and

a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner side of the recess.

20. The camera system of claim 14 , wherein a snap protrusion extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an outer side of the first housing, and

a snap groove extending in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first housing is inserted into the recess is formed on an inner side of the recess.
