Abstract

Systems and methods that provides zero, one or more non-fungible tokens to a player in addition to any awards provided to that player in association with a play of a game.

Claims (24)

1. A system comprising:

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

responsive to an occurrence of a non-fungible token creation event associated with a first player and a gaming establishment activity that occurs independent of any non-fungible tokens and following a communication of first data to a distributed network of computing nodes that results in a creation, in a decentralized open-source blockchain, of a non-fungible token evidencing the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity, cause a display, by a display device, of a notification of the creation of the non-fungible token, wherein the processor is distinct from any of the computing nodes of the distributed network, and

responsive to an occurrence of a non-fungible token distribution event associated with a second player and following a communication of second data to the distributed network of computing nodes that results in the created non-fungible token being assigned, in the decentralized open-source blockchain, as owned by the second player, cause a display, by the display device, of a notification of an ownership, in the decentralized open-source blockchain, of the created non-fungible token in association with the second player.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises a play of a wagering game.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event comprises at least one of: a display of a designated outcome during the play of the wagering game, a display of a designated award during the play of the wagering game, a display of a progressive award obtained in association with the play of the wagering game, and a display of a mystery award triggered in association with the play of the wagering game.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises sporting event wagering and the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on an award displayed in association with a winning sporting event wager.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on the gaming establishment activity reaching a threshold in association with the first player.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the created non-fungible token is associated with any of a still image, a video clip, a sound clip, an audio-visual clip, text, transaction information, and location information.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first player and the second player are the same player.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event and the non-fungible token distribution event are the same event.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the non-fungible token distribution event occurs after an authentication of the second player.

10. A method of operating a system, the method comprising:

responsive to an occurrence of a non-fungible token creation event associated with a first player and a gaming establishment activity that occurs independent of any non-fungible tokens and following a communication of first data to a distributed network of computing nodes that results in a creation, in a decentralized open-source blockchain, of a non-fungible token evidencing the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity, displaying, by a display device, a notification of the creation of the non-fungible token, and

responsive to an occurrence of a non-fungible token distribution event associated with a second player and following a communication of second data to the distributed network of computing nodes that results in the created non-fungible token being assigned, in the decentralized open-source blockchain, as owned by the second player, displaying, by the display device, a notification of an ownership, in the decentralized open-source blockchain, of the created non-fungible token in association with the second player.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises a play of a wagering game.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event comprises at least one of: a display of a designated outcome during the play of the wagering game, a display of a designated award during the play of the wagering game, a display of a progressive award obtained in association with the play of the wagering game, and a display of a mystery award triggered in association with the play of the wagering game.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises sporting event wagering and the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on an award displayed in association with a winning sporting event wager.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on the gaming establishment activity reaching a threshold in association with the first player.

15. The method of 10 , wherein the created non-fungible token is associated with any of a still image, a video clip, a sound clip, an audio-visual clip, text, transaction information, and location information.

16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first player and the second player are the same player.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event and the non-fungible token distribution event are the same event.

18. The method of claim 10 , wherein the non-fungible token distribution event occurs after an authentication of the second player.
