Abstract

Systems and methods that provides zero, one or more non-fungible tokens to a player in addition to any awards provided to that player in association with a play of a game.

Claims (32)

1 . An electronic gaming machine comprising:

a housing comprising an access door;

a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing;

a processor; and

a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

when an opening of the access door is detected via the security monitoring circuit:

disable any occurrence of any non-fungible token creation event associated with gaming establishment activity occurring at the electronic gaming machine, and

following at least a closing of the access door detected via the security monitoring circuit:

enable an occurrence of a non-fungible token creation event associated with gaming establishment activity occurring at the electronic gaming machine, and

responsive to the occurrence of the non-fungible token creation event associated with a player and the gaming establishment activity occurring independent of any non-fungible tokens:

 communicate, to a distributed network of distinct computing nodes operating independent of the processor, data associated with the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity,

 receive, from the distributed network of distinct computing nodes, data confirming a creation of a non-fungible token, written in a block on a decentralized open-source blockchain, evidencing the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity, and

 cause a display, by a display device, of a notification of the creation of the non-fungible token.

2 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises a play of a wagering game.

3 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 2 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event comprises at least one of: a display of a designated outcome during the play of the wagering game, a display of a designated award during the play of the wagering game, a display of a progressive award obtained in association with the play of the wagering game, and a display of a mystery award triggered in association with the play of the wagering game.

4 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises sporting event wagering and the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on an award displayed in association with a winning sporting event wager.

5 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on the gaming establishment activity reaching a threshold in association with the player.

6 . The electronic gaming machine of claim 1 , wherein the created non-fungible token is associated with any of a still image, a video clip, a sound clip, an audio-visual clip, text, transaction information, and location information.

7 . A method of operating an electronic gaming machine, the method comprising:

when an opening of the access door is detected via the security monitoring circuit:

disabling, by a processor, any occurrence of any non-fungible token creation event associated with gaming establishment activity occurring at the electronic gaming machine, and

following at least a closing of the access door detected via the security monitoring circuit:

enabling, by the processor, an occurrence of a non-fungible token creation event associated with gaming establishment activity occurring at the electronic gaming machine, and

responsive to the occurrence of the non-fungible token creation event associated with a player and the gaming establishment activity occurring independent of any non-fungible tokens:

communicating, to a distributed network of distinct computing nodes operating independent of a processor of the system, data associated with the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity,

receiving, from the distributed network of distinct computing nodes, data confirming a creation of a non-fungible token, written in a block of a decentralized open-source blockchain, evidencing the occurrence of the gaming establishment activity, and

displaying, by a display device, a notification of the creation of the non-fungible token.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises a play of a wagering game.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event comprises at least one of: a display of a designated outcome during the play of the wagering game, a display of a designated award during the play of the wagering game, a display of a progressive award obtained in association with the play of the wagering game, and a display of a mystery award triggered in association with the play of the wagering game.

10 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the gaming establishment activity comprises sporting event wagering and the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on an award displayed in association with a winning sporting event wager.

11 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the non-fungible token creation event occurs based on the gaming establishment activity reaching a threshold in association with the player.

12 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the created non-fungible token is associated with any of a still image, a video clip, a sound clip, an audio-visual clip, text, transaction information, and location information.
