Abstract

An apparatus includes a network interface and a display. The network interface receives an identification of an event and sends a session request, the session request identifying a location of the event and an Internet address of the apparatus. The network interface transmits a distance from the location and receives a sensor selection request indicating a sensor. The display displays a geofence indicating a physical location of the sensor, at least in part based on the sensor selection request. The network interface transmits a sensor selection response indicating the sensor and receives data associated with the sensor.

Claims (56)

1. A method implemented by an apparatus, the method comprising:

receiving an identification of an event;

sending a session request identifying a location of the event, an Internet address of the apparatus, and a distance from the location;

receiving a sensor selection request indicating a sensor;

displaying, by the apparatus, a geofence indicating a physical location of the sensor, at least in part based on the sensor selection request, wherein the geofence corresponds to the location and identifies a first jurisdiction;

receiving data representing an other geofence;

displaying the other geofence, wherein the other geofence identifies a second jurisdiction adjacent to the first jurisdiction;

transmitting a sensor selection response indicating the sensor;

receiving data associated with the sensor;

receiving a session key;

decrypting the data with the session key;

decrypting the data to produce an image; and

displaying, by the apparatus, the image.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the session request includes a time of the event.

3. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

negotiating an event ID for the event; and

transmitting an audit request indicating the event ID.

4. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting a command to control a motor for the sensor.

5. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

displaying an indication of the sensor in the geofence.

6. An apparatus, comprising:

a network interface that receives an identification of an event and that sends a session request, the session request identifying a location of the event, an Internet address of the apparatus, and a distance from the location, wherein the network interface receives a sensor selection request indicating a sensor, and the network interface receives a session key;

a display that displays a geofence indicating a physical location of the sensor, at least in part based on the sensor selection request,

wherein the geofence corresponds to the location and identifies a first jurisdiction,

the network interface receives data representing an other geofence, transmits a sensor selection response indicating the sensor, and receives data associated with the sensor, the other geofence identifying a second jurisdiction adjacent to the first jurisdiction, and

the display displays the other geofence; and

a processing unit configured to decrypt the data with the session key, wherein the processing unit further is configured to decrypt the data to produce an image, and the display displays the image.

7. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the session request includes a time of the event.

8. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the processing unit further is configured to negotiate an event ID for the event, and the network interface transmits an audit request indicating the event ID.

9. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the network interface transmits a command to control a motor for the sensor.

10. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the display displays an indication of the sensor in the geofence.

11. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the session key is a public key or a private key.

12. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium including instructions that, when executed by a processing unit, cause an apparatus including the processing unit to perform operations comprising:

receiving an identification of an event;

sending a session request identifying a location of the event and an Internet address of the apparatus;

transmitting a distance from the location;

receiving a sensor selection request indicating a sensor;

displaying a geofence indicating a physical location of the sensor, at least in part based on the sensor selection request, wherein the geofence identifies a first jurisdiction in which the event occurred;

receiving data representing an other geofence;

displaying the other geofence, wherein the other geofence identifies a second jurisdiction adjacent to the first jurisdiction;

transmitting a sensor selection response indicating the sensor;

receiving data associated with the sensor;

receiving a session key;

decrypting the data with the session key, wherein the session key is at least partially symmetric or asymmetric;

decrypting the data to produce an image; and

displaying the image.

13. The medium according to claim 12 , wherein the session request includes a time of the event.

14. The medium according to claim 12 , the operations further comprising:

negotiating an event ID for the event; and

transmitting an audit request indicating the event ID.

15. The medium according to claim 12 , the operations further comprising:

transmitting a command to control a motor for the sensor.

16. The medium according to claim 12 , the operations further comprising:

displaying an indication of the sensor in the geofence.

17. The medium according to claim 12 , wherein the data includes audio data.
